In many species the ...

I see these fairly often, what are they anyway? I'm sure they're related to fireflies, but they have no tail light whatsoever. They even behave like fireflies, doing the "antenna flithering" as they walk..

You can watch some of the fiery little creatures here - http://www.vimeo.com/246885 - along with the scoop. The first time I ever saw fireflies, and it was in Central Park!

Also, I've been working on a video compilation of my road trip to Oregon but iMovie keeps crashing on export. Anyone know of an another editing program that will open iMovie files?

This here is my quick portrait (1 1/2 hrs) of Ron Glass, who plays the character Shepherd Book on the cancelled show Firefly. His character is a priest, you could say. "Shepherd", and why he's traveling with a tramp ship like Serenity he has yet to confess. But he sure knows a lot about things you wouldn't expect of a holy man.

Here's the reference I used. Colored pencil on brown bag paper. Two more to go, and I'll have finished the main cast.
