The fireflies were blazing this night! The sky was somewhat haze and fairly bright from nearby cities, but the stars were out (for a change). A comnposite of 66 frames, 20 sec. representing 23 minutes of elapsed time.
This firefly flew into my apartment and hung out in my lamp for a while. I finally had to take the lamp outside and flip it upside down to get him to fly out.
Here come real stars to fill the upper skies,
And here on earth come emulating flies,
That though they never equal stars in size,
(And they were never really stars at heart)
Acheive at times a very star-like start.
Only, of course, they can't sustain the part.

This one is from another old college project,
about depicting an animal (or insect for that matter)
by insinuating it.
It is for fireflies.
I glued transparent wings on some lightbulbs and photographed them.
The rest of the work was done in photoshop.
You would not believe your eyes
If ten million fireflies
Lit up the world as I fell asleep
'Cause they'd fill the open air
And leave teardrops everywhere
You'd think me rude
But I would just stand and stare
I'd like to make myself believe
That planet Earth turns slowly
It's hard to say that I'd rather stay
Awake when I'm asleep
'Cause everything is never as it seems
