This car accident not only knocked down that utility pole, but knocked out power in our block this afternoon.

A fuego lento tú me vas a quemar
En un incendio que no quiero apagar
Decir te amo no es nada original

This photo was taken during Scott Kelby's World Wide Photo Walk in Racine, WI. The Walk that I participated in is one of 1052 Walks held around the world all on the same day for a specified period of time. We then submit one of our better photos to compete with all of the other walks. But really this is more about being with other photo enthusiast and meeting old and new friends.

This is from a series I shot for a workshop project while I was in Santa Fe. I didn't end of using this shot in the final presentation, but I used a similiar shot without his sunglasses. You can see the final shot that I decided to use and read more about the project at my blog: geroco.blogspot.com/2008/08/visual-storytelling-workshop....
Stobist information: One 580EX II out of view at camera left at full power. Held by another firefighter. You can see the specular highlight in the sunglasses.
76 Cleveland Firefighters have been killed in the line of duty since 1863. On six separate occasions, more than one firefighter has been killed at the same incident. Although the causes may be different, the result has been the same. Firefighting is one of the most dangerous professions in America.
This memorial is for the fallen brave.

I don’t know what these two firefighters were talking about—maybe the big truck-mounted ventilator that was being placed in the driveway?
