I went into local woodland in wind and rein and was rewarded with a fleeting few minutes of sunshine to back light the beautiful autumn colour.

Working today with my portable "north light" studio, we shot these outdoors on a sunny day with two LumoPro LP160 flashes.

So grateful to these firefighters who contained a blaze very quickly in one of my neighbor’s garages this morning, but not before two garages were damaged. All of our garages connect, so, it was quite stressful, especially as I had to try to evacuate 3 cats. My dog was easy, but I learned a daunting lesson that rescuing multiple cats from a fast moving smoke/fire situation would be extremely challenging. Fortunately, although there was a lot of smoldering material, there were minimal flames when help arrived, so, the situation was controlled quickly. Firefighters seen here returning to their units, after a job well done.
Shot for my project.

The firefighter from the Winter Village Fire Station poses next to some gear in the firehouse. I tried to mimic window lighting with my flash.... hopefully I was successful :-)
I'm thinking of naming her "Felicity the Firefighter" unless I come up with something else. Any suggestions? :-)

Respect for them all!
Keep going guys, you are awesome and thanks for your job!

Yesterday evening, there was a fire in my neighborhood. Thankfully, there were no deaths or serious injuries (from what I've heard) but, sadly, someone's home was horrifically damaged.
