Fire Exit @ Audio Glasgow January 28th 2018
Pretty “Damned” Good Cake…
Paisley punk band Fire Exit along with The Media whores, Red Eyes, Threat, Shock and Awe and Blacklist celebrated Lawrie Kennedy’s birthday at Audio Glasgow Pre Damned punk gig that went down a storm.
Though non of the legendary 70s punk band The Damned managed to make it along to the gig, as they themselves where playing at the O2. Audio’s was jumping and more so when Fire Exit took to the stage to finish off what was a fantastic show.
But instead of leaving only to return to the chats of we want more and their final encore. Fire Exit singer Gerry ushered onto the stage Lawrie’s two girls who entered stage right carrying a birthday cake to a massive round off applause from the audience.
You know what! not many in the business can say they blew out birthday candles as part of their encore to a cheering audience and finishing off what was a fantastic show, which other wise would have been a dull rainy Sunday afternoon in Glasgow..

Decided to take the stairs instead of the elevator.
I liked the way the lights filter through the stairs, like sun rays.
If you look at the fake cantina you can see it is in fact the rear fire exit for Morningside Library! Grand Victorian structure out on the nearby main road, but back here in this hidden street it is a cantina from El Paso!!
New doorways just cut out. I wonder if the Tea Tree Plaza upgrade is finally beginning after 7 years of being in 'development hell'.
A fire exit that is no longer in use at the Fairmont Palliser in Calgary. I talked the bellhop into showing me how to get here because it's not accessible by the general public. Cool kid... cool hotel...
The Beatles looking for the fire exit ! That was the cradle of the famous Beatle song "Help"
Now we have to write a new Beatles history , lol !
Seriously , saw this photo on the wall of my hotel ...( Hanover Hotel - Liverpool , Cavern Club area )

The Three Great Storehouses at Portsmouth Historic Dockyard.
The large building on the left is the Number 9 Store. Home of The Georgian Tearooms and the Antiques Storehouse.
Grade I listed building.
Number 9 Store (Building Number 1/35), Portsmouth
We had lunch in The Georgian Tearoom.
Objects inside the Tearoom.
Various life rings - HMS Ledbury, Victory Guides Association. HMS Pinafore poster. And other things.
Fire exit doors.
Fur-Real Friends: Daisy play-with-me kitties on Big W shelf. And they're sensitive because they make noise when you come close to them!
How cute!
Punk band “Fire Exit” live at Glasgow’s Audio, December 2nd Christmas Gig 2017.
Paisley’s “Fire Exit” Christmas party gig played with The Zips from Glasgow, The Cundeez from Dundee, Church of Confidence from Germany and Monkish from London had the audience on their feet throughout the night.
Audio Glasgow on Midland St under the rail bridge was buzzing like most of Glasgow and though only in Glasgow central station, where one drunk who could barely walk fell by the escalators, and its believed he damaged his leg. The night went off incident free and there was nothing, but great spirits and camaraderie throughout the audience.
If anything it was shocking that on a Saturday night the last train out off Glasgow back to paisley and beyond left at a sickeningly early 11.50pm.
Come on Scotland you can do a lot better than this when there are people from all over the uk flooding to this amazing city while hoards are forced to rush for the last train that in its self was mobbed…
Any money plenty of them still had money to spend with many premises willing to entertain and bank the takings..
Merry Christmas one and all and those of you still into live bands and punk. Keep an eye out for Fire Exit you‘ll find on facebook…

Toys "R" Us still trading & retaining its 1990s signage.
I would be totally annoyed if it was to close soon as there are only 2 other locations (Gepps Cross & Noarlunga Centre)
“Kaos was launched in November 2003 in the crumbling, crushed velvet and gold splendour of Madame JoJo’s in Soho. Over the past seven and half years we have staged underground events all over London.
From the faded opulence of JoJo’s to the Dickensian squalor of an underground public toilet (Public Life, Spitalfields) via the neo-gothic splendour of the 291 Gallery and the eccentric grunge of The Speaker Palace. We have turned the club into an experimental cinema and collaborated with a range of international performance artists (…).
Kaos now runs monthly parties at the legendary and completely unhinged tranny fetish club Stunners Our resident DJs are Dr Mu, HaLo-iS + Choronzon, they are joined by a roster of special guests, including over the years, co-founder Bradley Kaos, EJ Doubell, Richard Torry & Mathew Glamorre, Hannah Holland, Franko B, Cormac, Tatu Vuolteenaho, Wandson Maxx, David TG, Jonty Scrufff, Dale Cornish, KvRk, WhatDuck, D’Mak, Dale Cornish, Phil Able, Prisce de Cockroach and Jose Macabra playing to a fierce crowd of tattooed techno boys, androgynous elektro freaks, vampish transsexuals and assorted, unclassifiable eccentrics”.
A photo exhibition at Curzon Street Station in Eastside, Birmingham.
Just about managed to see it before it closed! It opened while I was on holiday in Spain!
Most of the photos here were in the Birmingham Post (pullouts and website).
Was nice to finally see the inside of the building! It maybe integrated into the future HS2 station!
Door from the outdoor area. Is a fire exit.
Still only a quarter of a sensor though.
I swear i've seen that somewhere before...
(Edited because the lopsidedness was getting annoying!)
Looking towards former HS/Cheap As Chips store with derelict shops between POV. Police Credit Union is likely to relocate in the next few months.

Trash compactor & receiving dock for Toys "R" Us. Container trailers loaded with toys imported from the companies are parked there!
Former HS/Cheap As Chips store being prepared for fit-out. Possibly for a supermarket or bigger Radio Rentals/Toys "R" Us.
