Clad in collared red leotard, complete with 3 black buttons, the juvenile is all ready. Pitching on a Sea Hibiscus plant, he grabs hold of the adults as they swing perilously in the air. Bravo! A high-flying aerial show without any safety harness, I clapped my hands and watched in suspense.
Phytophageous real bugs are wandering around a lot while mating;
however, I am not sure if these "firebugs" belong to Pyrrhocoridae (Dysdercus cingulatus-Group) ? NO, they do not!

This looks like group ***. The mild winter did not deplete their population. Will be an army once they eclose. I think they are Pyrrhocoris apterus, Gemeine Feuerwanzen in German, Firebug in English.

A firebug, Pyrrhocoris apterus, "gendarme" in French (translation: cop). I'm not sure you/we guys have them in the U.S. (?). View Large On Black.
Pyrrhocoris apterus (lat), Firebug (eng). They can be seen in tandem formation when mating which can take from 12 hours up to 7 days.
