This name has especial symbolic relevance for the borough today. With the closing of Phoenix Iron and Steel in the early nineteen eighties the town lost its principle industry, and subsequently went through a twenty year period of stagnation and decline. Since the turn of the new century Phoenixville has been enjoying a rebirth; with the opening of new shops and restaurants, a visitor's center in the old Foundry Building, the continued renovation of the Colonial Theatre, the renewal of Bridge Street, and much more, it is truly rising from its own ashes like its mythic namesake.

This1979 Pontiac Firebird came in for some freshening up. we repaired some rust on the quarters and doors replaced the fenders, both the front and rear bumper covers and trunk lid. Reinstalled the Formula decals and sent the wheels out to be stripped and powder coated. The client choose to change the color form white to black with gold wheels and gold decal set. We installed new carpet, door panels, reupholstered the seats & painted all of the interior trim panels. The car turned out Great, the client loved it!

The 7th Annual Phoenixville Firebird Festival is all set for December 11th. For the past six (soon to be seven) years, a small group of local residents have built and then burned a huge wooden model of a Phoenix to celebrate the town's namesake around the Winter Solstice.
The first Festival was a small affair, perhaps a couple of dozen people in a vacant lot behind the center of town. The bird, itself, was only ten feet tall. But the Festival, and the bird, has grown over the years.
This year, thousands of people are expected to attend as they light the twenty foot wooden bird.
