Holocaust Memorial Berlin, everytime I'm passing by, I will end up taking a picture of it, this time I decided to put it in use...

Whew... Easily the biggest MOC that I've ever made, and the longest I've ever spent building a MOC. I posted the WIP an entire year ago and that was after like a month of building itself. Despite all that, it's still less than half the size of a SHIP at about 46-47 studs long, but I did spend probably close to $200 on Bricklink orders and sets for parts for this, so I think it should be noted as at least a BIP or something.

I learned a lot making this. Number 1: Nothing ever lines up unless you planned it out to. Number 2: It's going to be a half plate off. I don't care what it is or where it is, but somehow it's a half plate away from where it should be. There's a few areas that I'm not happy with, like the front of the wings, where the sides meet at the nose, and the bottom, but at this point I just want to be DONE. Maybe I'll fix those areas later.

More pictures to come!

STARFOLD Intergalactic Shipping Company (SISC) launched its first shipping ventures in the year 2076, a mere 20 years after mankind set foot on new planets. Rapid colonization to these new planets came to depend on reliable, large-scale shipping of supplies, and STARFOLD was the first to meet the demand, quickly gaining monopoly on space commerce as a whole.

i've had her new eyes for a week and i finally had the chance to put them in today!!!

Rapunzel is finally finished!!! just need to get her a short brown wig XD

I received the advance copies of my book, Origami Tessellations: Awe-Inspiring Geometric Designs.

This is it! The finished book - I'm so happy with how it turned out! The cover is beautiful and the print quality is just fantastic. I'm so very very pleased with the work that my editor & designer, Jeff Rutzky, and my publishers A K Peters, Ltd. did on this book. I couldn't have asked for better help in making this book become a reality.

I'm looking forward to sharing this book with all of you - it is available for pre-order now from Amazon, B&N, and the usual suspects, as well as from AK Peters directly. It will be shipping sometime in mid-December.

Thanks to all of you for your help and support through this lengthy process!

I was very lame, and did not finish this sweater in time for my niece's birthday. It caused me much sadness, but it is done now, and I am pleased with the way it turned out.

I got to walk today, what a feeling. The culmination of my high school academia has come to this moment and I feel like Superman! I couldn't have gotten this far without the love and encouragement of my family, friends, and God. It's been a long journey and this is just one of the pit stops. I thank God for bringing me this far and blessing me with such great people that have been there every step of the way. I pray that He will continue to bless me as I go onto new endeavors.

Also, I've decided to start the 365 project! I've been wanting to do this for a while but have been waiting for an appropriate time to start it up. I hope to grow as an amateur photographer and as a person. By taking a self-portrait everyday for a year, I look forward to finding who I am. I am by no means creative so bear with me, it could be rough.

I hope you'll join me as I close another chapter in my life and begin a new one.

Edit: Packing up the tux made me sad, I love formalwear =\

Explored! Daaang thanks so much ya'll =]

someone asked if i had taken pictures during the process-- not as many as i wished i had but here are some of them. the upper left is the expedit wall unit *at* the IKEA store. the rest are in my livingroom. the two B&W pics on the top are "before" shots.

hmm, maybe i should explain the painter's tape. when we put it together, the shelves kept slipping off the dowels and frustrating us mightily. last sunday i spent all day cogitating and decided we had put the dowels into the frame's side pieces which were hollow-ish. what we needed to have done is put the dowels in the shelf pieces (MDF); so edge by edge, i did that and put painter's tape on the joints so they wouldn't slip out when i went to the next side. it also helped knowing it was square we when stood it up on end.

the people who helped (jimmy, shelah, cooper, and keith) were wonderful-- can't ask for better friends... the original inspiration was a wall unit at my great aunt winnie's house and that one inspired another one at my mom's. the contents of mom's was so artfully put together-- will never be able to get to that, but i like how mine looks and it will always be a work-in-progress.

let me know if you want any of these pics "released" so you can write comments.

I failed this year's project in all but the literal sense of the word. We are gracefully bowing out now that we muddled through the final week.

To everyone who has supported us in comments, favorites and private messages, you guys have rocked hard and I'm still sticking by my promise that I will return all those wonderful thoughts during the 12 month break I'm giving myself.

I hope to one day regain that giddiness I had back when I first joined this group mid-way in 2010. It's been an amazing ride and I thank each and every one of you for making it happen!

I'll be a-lurkin' ;) And hopefully slowly cleaning up the mess I made of my Flickr stream this past year.

This is what has kept me busy and low on art goodies for you all. I made the top with my mother three years ago, but she never got around to finishing it, so I snuck it out of the house, got the back and the filler, and finished it. Looks great and it's HUGE. I'm neither short nor small but I couldn't even lift high enough to get it off the floor.

The corner of each square is finished with a vintage pearl button from the collection my grandmother gave me, and the edge is finished with a blanket stitch done in a double strand of pearl off-white cotton cord. I am giving it to my mother as a surprise christmas present. :)

I'm so happy I could just spit! I love it! It's actually a bit better than I had pictured it would be in my fuzzy little head!

I don't remember the number of times me and my friends had planned for visiting Goa. Every single time some or other thing used to stop us from completing our dream trip. After I graduated I completly lost the hope of visiting Goa because all my friends were in different directions.

.

Thankfully I had the opportunity to go to Goa with my office colleagues! what an amazing trip it was! I played beach football, beach ball catches, water games, bike rides and one wonderful dive into ocean to do snorkelling!!

.

This picture was taken when I was wandering on the candolim beach in the early morning!

.

What is your dream destination that you are planning to visit?

And of course, Phoebe was a huuuuuge help! ;)

see notes if you want to know what I got for my family :P I seem to have bought a lot of books this year haha.

Merry Christmas everyone!!!

What I've learned when making these:

- new decrease method (I did k2tog all the time before, I learned ssk)

- heel flap

- gusset

- twisted knit stitches

- how much I hate and cannot make ladders go away (I think future pairs of socks will be either done with magic loop or on two pairs of circular needles - I'm waiting on new ones to come in the mail with super flexible cables!)

Just a close-up of the super-fab star block...I just love it!

They're a *smidge* short on the heel for me. Sob.

I've gifted them to my mom, who wears a half-size smaller than me and these fit her perfectly.

Still wish I could wear the first pairs of socks that I've done.
