Having checked several menus, we settled for a meal at a restaurant in Manarola's town square, built directly over the rail line, where we found lots of fish on the menu.
Foreground: my swordfish. I had to eat swordfish after seeing that one at the fishmonger's in Santa Margherita earlier in the morning. Middleground: sauteed peppers. Background: a recently filleted local fish that there's no way we'd ever remember the name of. The wine is the fourth of the citrusy and refreshing local whites we tried - one for each of the Cinque Terre towns that we visited. Another very nice, and rather late dinner.
We ended the day with a very dark 1 km cliffside walk along the path back to Riomaggiore.
