My old-timey Batcave is based on the idea that, after all, Bruce Wayne is insane. He’s an obsessed vigilante who hangs out in a cave. With bats.

Therefore…why would he care if his cave doesn’t have a floor? He doesn’t need to lock his file cabinet: Batman’s about the only guy Ninja enough to reach it. (It’s on a swivel arm…but he’s got the only key to the controls.)

This was the last photo my camera took before it decided to die a horrible death. Coincidence?

I'm using colored folders, because well, these are what I have handy. And it helps me to distinguish items even more. DA recommends using filing cabinets with metal sliders but I don't have one and these seem to be very hard to find nowdays.

I am trying to keep my workspace more tidy: filing my "in use" felt scraps by colour :)

The previous "solution" was merely a giant heap:

I keep track of my projects and assignments for school using clear folders. I stick color-coded 3x5 cards in the front of the folders to label them, so they're all reusable.

It might look like overkill, but its actually pretty compact when its all put together. And it keeps me from carting around old papers I don't need anymore, as well as from having to constantly reprint things I've lost.

First Manchester 33725 (SN12 AKX) stands totally dwarfed by the impressive structure of the Manchester Civil Justice Centre.

The file cabinet also displays more lava lamps, including three showing the common three 1970s colors: red/clear, orange/yellow, green/blue. To their left is a 1980s lamp commemorating the USSR space flights, bought off Russian eBay. The hooded brass lamp on the right illuminates the contents of the drawers.

On the far left is a display of unusual vintage decorative light bulbs, and a rare 1930s Edwards door chime with chrome bells and a circular mirror topped by a glass finial. The light switch plate below (for the back porch light) has a mirrored switchplate to match. Note the glowing flowers in pots, see next photo...
