From the Subway Sketcher Sketchbooks

(hoping me sharing my healthy eating and improved mental and body health INSPIRES others to do whatever they LOVE that brings them joy) so happy to see my waist is becoming more apparent in this drawing of me from yesterday. thanks to 16:8 fasting. resting from eating 16 hours a day to allow my insulin levels to get lower and give my body a chance to burn it's own fat for fuel (drinking water, black coffee, plain tea to stay hydrated) , then eating nutrient dense low carb, higher healthy fats, medium protein foods, and lots of veggies for fiber and carbd to help me digest all the healthy fat i am eating.... in an 8 hour window during the day (usually i eat 1-9pm or 12-8pm). i have been exercising my whole life so have good muscle tone & cardio health... just want to now burn off excess weight that i no longer need to carry around! i feel great! fasting can balance hormone levels and help your body's health in multiple ways even if you are not wanting to lose weight....fasting is helping my mental health tremendously! i feel stable and less depressed/anxious and more calm and actually happy! for me, feeling "happy" is very new!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! www.shannonkringen.com/figuremodel.htm

For the last few Tuesdays I've been attending a open figure drawing class called the Keyhole Session. It's advertised as being "Not Your Grandma's Life Drawing Session" and rightly so. This image was from a few weeks back.

Used the last 20 minutes of a long pose session to do a portrait. Thanks Hazel, for helping us create art. Good luck.

Tonight, I wanted to try doing some figure drawings in ink. Nothing could be erased while I drew the model. This was one of the better drawings I did with that technique.
