A restored Mikoyan Mig-17 Fresco flying during the 2025 Abbotsford International Airshow. It was unique to see this Cold War era jet. Second time that I've ever seen one of these.
A USAF F35 Lightning II performing during the Lightning demo at the 2025 Abbotsford International Airshow. It was an awesome demo, it was cut short however due to technical problems. A warning light came on and the pilot had to land. That said she put on a good show, didn't hold back, and she nearly broke the sound barrier.

A bbmf Spitfire and an RAF Typhoon go through their routine in front of assessors during PDA (public display authorisation) to get certified for public displays. This was at RAF Coningsby.
A pair of US Navy E/A18G Growlers flying during the Growler demo at the 2025 Abbotsford Airshow. It was loud and the pilots didn't hold back. I can still hear the afterburners when I look at these shots.
I've been scanning a few of my old negatives lately. These four photos of the P-40 were taken at the Owl's Head Transportation Museum in July '90.
A restored USAF P51 Mustang from WWII flying during the Warbirds demo at the 2025 Abbotsford International Airshow. It flew alongside an F4U Corsair and a P38 Lightning .
A USAF F-35 Lightning II flying in the 2023 Abbotsford Airshow. This was the plane that I most excited to see. The pilot put on an incredible demo too, she didn't hold back, showed off all the F-35 can do, and came close to breaking the sound barrier.
This was taken at the 2006 Joint Services Open House at Andrews Air Force Base. These precision flyers were part of the Lima Lima Flight Team, a team of six, flying these restored Beechcraft T-34A Mentors.

This Spitfire is a replica painted to match WW2, double ace pilot
Bert Houles Spitfire: AN-A JG184 (cdn 4817). Here's a breif snip I found on him:
GROUP CAPTAIN ALBERT ULRICH "BERT" HOULE, D.F.C. and Bar, C.D., of Massey, Ontario, flew with Nos. 213, 145 and 417 Squadrons. His score of enemy aircraft was 11 destroyed, 1 probable and 7 others damaged.
He commanded the crack City of Windsor Squadron which fought in Malta, the Middle East, Britain. He was best known for getting two Germans in 15 seconds. He "squirted" at one, went underneath it, saw another, "squirted" him too. He wore the D.F.C.

A Vought F4U Corsair flying in a demo the 2026 Abbotsford Airshow. One of three Warbirds that flew in the flyover. It flew a solo demo later on in the airshow and was fantastic, pilot handled the old warbird well. This is one of my favorite planes from WWII and it's always a delight to see one fly.
