Though many Sea Furies have been converted to Curtiss-Wright or Pratt & Whitney power, this example retains its original Bristol Centaurus engine and 5 blade propeller.

One of two USAF F-15 Eagles that took part in the 2023 Abbotsford Airshow on the static display. Another aircraft that has stood the test of time. The Eagle first flew back in 1972 and it's flying with various air forces around the world and it's still in production with new variants. Some say it's the greatest fighter plane of all time and I say it's worthy of that title.

On April 30,1975 during the evacuation of South Vietnam, a South Vietnamese Major was desperate to save himself and his family. He took off in this exact Bird Dog with his wife & five children and headed out to sea. Without sufficient fuel to return he managed to locate the USS Midway and dropped a hand-written note requesting the helicopters be moved from the landing deck. Incredibly he managed a perfect landing.

Led by 88th Squadron Commander Major Abdullah al Ghamdi, the Saudi Hawks are one of the most distinguished and well-loved regional aerobatic teams. Flying British-made Hawk Mk65 smoke-capable jets proudly bearing the RSAF green and white 'coat of arms', the Saudi Hawks' breath-taking performances have been a regular feature of the Al Ain Aerobatic Show for many years, with a fresh take and a brand new set of manoeuvres each season.

The combination of intensive training, constant reinvention and unflinching determination won the Saudi Hawks an entry in the Guinness Book of World Records for the largest ever aerial drawing. The majestic manouevre, dubbed the 'emblem move', resulted in a smoke drawing of the Saudi emblem, consisting of two swords crossed over a palm tree, and took two years to perfect.

"We bring something new to Al Ain every year," said Al Ghamdi. "We create and rehearse fof six months ahead of the display season to surprise the public with every one of our performances."

The suspended Sea Harrier transforms machine into captive bird, the markings tattooing its surface evoking its namesake the Harrier Hawk. A Jaguar lies belly up on the floor, its posture suggestive of a submissive animal. Stripped and polished, its surface functions as a shifting mirror, exposing the audience to its own reactions. Harrier and Jaguar remain ambiguous objects implying both captured beast and fallen trophy.

Both planes are de-commissioned fighter planes.

The Jaguar has been polished, the Harrier painted with feathers.

The British Aerospace Sea Harrier is a naval VTOL/STOVL jet fighter, reconnaissance and attack aircraft, a development of the Hawker Siddeley Harrier. It first entered service with the Royal Navy in April 1980 as the Sea Harrier FRS1. The Sea Harrier was withdrawn from service in 2006 and the last remaining aircraft from 801 Naval Air Squadron were decommissioned on 29 March 2006.

Val-Halla, a restored P51 Mustang, flying at the 2025 Abbotsford International Airshow. It was supposed to be taking part in the USAF Heritage Flyover alongside the F35 Lightning II but the F35 hand to land due to technical problems so Val-Halla flew on it's own while the RCAF Snowbirds prepared for their performance. Val-Halla was named for both it's pilots Bill Anders wife Valerie and for the Black Knights P51 squadron that was stationed at Keflavik, Iceland during the Cold War.
