Commonwealth Aircraft Corporation (CAC) CA-18 Mk.21 Mustang VH-BOB (RAAF Serial A68-104) captured during Warbirds Over Scone 2026.
Currently one of my favourite aircraft, this Australian-built Mustang appeared in striking late-1940s Royal Australian Air Force markings carrying the “04” fuselage code. Photographed with a Nikon D7000 and 300mm lens at 1/125 sec during takeoff to emphasize dynamic motion and retain propeller blur.
A restored USAF P38 Lightning from WWII flying during the Warbirds demo at the 2025 Abbotsford International Airshow. It flew alongside an F4U Corsair and a P51 Mustang.
Two Spitfires wait side by side at IWM Duxford, ready for departure. Even at rest, these aircraft carry an incredible presence - elegant, powerful, and steeped in history. During the Second World War, sights like this were once an everyday reality as squadrons prepared to take to the skies. Today, seeing them together at Duxford still feels like stepping back in time.

Wikipedia: The Focke-Wulf Fw 190, nicknamed Würger (Shrike) is a German single-seat, single-engine fighter aircraft designed by Kurt Tank at Focke-Wulf in the late 1930s and widely used during World War II. Along with its well-known counterpart, the Messerschmitt Bf 109, the Fw 190 became the backbone of the Jagdwaffe (Fighter Force) of the Luftwaffe. The twin-row BMW 801 radial engine that powered most operational versions enabled the Fw 190 to lift larger loads than the Bf 109, allowing its use as a day fighter, fighter-bomber, ground-attack aircraft and to a lesser degree, night fighter.

A USAF F35 Lightning II performing during the Lightning demo at the 2025 Abbotsford International Airshow. It was an awesome demo, it was cut short however due to technical problems. A warning light came on and the pilot had to land. That said she put on a good show, didn't hold back, and she nearly broke the sound barrier.

The Tamiya kit.
Decals are a combination of the Tamiya kit decal and Techmod 48068. This Techmod decal gave me some trouble--the two large white '155' markings bled during manufacture, and it wasn't evident to me how serious this was until I dipped them in water. The decal that I used on the port side of the model wasn't so bad, but I didn't photograph the starboard side, because the decal on that side was noticeably fuzzy.

The Republic P-47 Thunderbolt was a World War II-era fighter and ground-attack aircraft, known for its rugged construction, heavy armament, and versatility. One of the largest and most powerful single-engine fighters of the war, it played a key role in both air combat and close air support missions.

A US Navy E/A18G Growler flying during the Growler demo at the 2025 Abbotsford Airshow. It was loud and the pilots didn't hold back. I can still hear the afterburners when I look at these shots.

I am posting most of my builds from oldest to newest there. HOWEVER, I plan to still post here regularly for eternity. I see Flickr as my main platform because I think the people are nicer.
