Legacy Blues
One of the highlights of my career, refueling the US Navy Blue Angels. Having grown up watching them perform in the A-4 Skyhawk and transition to the F/A-18A, this was quite the treat.

The McDonnell Douglas F-15 Eagle is an American twin-engine, all-weather tactical fighter aircraft designed by McDonnell Douglas. Following reviews of proposals, the United States Air Force selected McDonnell Douglas's design in 1969 to meet the service's need for a dedicated air superiority fighter.
Today saw the delivery of the first two Eurofighter Typhoon's for the Royal Air Force of Oman. ZR410/411, both twin sticks departed Warton in some lovely morning sunlight (for a change) and are due in Oman on Wednesday.

Singapore Airshow 2018
A formation of F-15C Eagles assigned to the 493rd Fighter Squadron, and an F-15E Strike Eagle assigned to the 492nd Fighter Squadron, fly over Gloucestershire, England, to attend the upcoming Royal International Air Tattoo airshow held at RAF Fairford July 7. The RAF Lakenheath aircraft will be on public display, along with many other military aircraft from around the U.K., to provide an opportunity for U.S. and military allies to showcase their capabilities. From nowhere a group of airforce fighter jets practicing low-level flying appeared...a great show but not without much noise. Probably from Edwards Air Force Base.
Turns out headaches can cause you upside down. My wife had a neck pain and causing a severe headache to her. So we didn't head up to San Francisco but missed the Blue Angels.
Do contests make you smile? Does your heart beat a little louder when you think of winning a PRIZE?? THEN THIS IS THE CONTEST FOR YOU!!
Pullip-Tography's Maiden Voyage Contest!
Your Pullip . . . your city. How does she view where she lives? What is your city best known for? How would you show someone who's not from there, what you're most proud of?
The contest will officially open February 1st.
Round one will be from February 1st - April 2nd (Yes, 2 whole months to get your shot--because winter is not pretty everywhere!). It is the Natural Beauty round. Find something that is indiginous to your city, something that shows the natural beauty of where you live, and get your best shot of your Pullip savoring it. It can be a wide shot or a tighter shot but the nature must be visible, and so must your Pullip.
Rules: More to come (it's been busy, so bear with me).
First and foremost: You must use a Pullip/Dal, that belongs to you. Please, no using someone else's doll. Pictures can only include one doll for this contest.
Second: Editing is allowed with Picnik or Photoshop, or whatever editing software you use. BUT . . . no superposition . . . or layering your pullip on artificial background/pictures she was not actually originally attached to.
Third . . . (DUH!): You must be a member of Pullip-Tography to enter and to win. Go here to join: www.flickr.com/groups/pullip-tography/
There will be prizes. One, I am decided upon and I will find the rest as the next couple of weeks progress and my schedule loosens up. They will be physical prizes, sent to the winner. There will also be a virtual prize. ^_^
I will start a new discussion thread in the group for questions, and one more for contest entries. Feel free to fm me if you need any help.
I can't wait to see what you all have to show! (And no, it is not required for you to actually state where you live, for privacy and safety reasons, but you may if you wish.)
Always,
Paige
(And yes, Carolyn is sitting on the lightning rod of a real Air Force fighter jet!!)
Since 1981, San Francisco Fleet Week has been an annual opportunity for Northern Californians to honor the men and women serving in the United States Navy, Coast Guard and Marines. This year approximately 9,000 crewmembers on visiting ships will arrive in the City to participate in Fleet Week. They are all extraordinary individuals and this is our chance to learn about their character and skill, and to observe the pride with which they carry out their duties.

“MX-324 ROCKET WING - (1944) -- Northrop’s Rocket Wing MX-324 was America’s first military rocket airplane. It was completed in 1944 under strict secrecy; the world did not learn of its existence until early in 1947. Its first flight was made in the presence of a few Northrop and U. S. Air Force personnel July 5, 1944, at Harper’s Dry Lake near Barstow, California. The MX-324 was a Flying Wing of 36-foot wing span with a prone cockpit. The prone cockpit enabled the pilot to lie flat and withstand higher accelerations. The MX-324 was powered by an Aerojet XCAL-200 rocket motor, which used monoethylaniline, oxidized with red fuming nitric acid, as fuel. Other glider-type models (MX-334) were designed to take off and land on skids.”
That’s some ‘out of the cockpit’ thinking, although the fuel mixture seems particularly…unappealing.
As you might expect, multiple articles are available online.
