Red, orange, brown, fawn, these are the warm shades that nature gives us in the sunsets in autumn.

This sunset captures the vivid oranges, reds, and yellows that dusk can produce.

Fiery, fiery night

Paint your palette red and grey

Look out on a summer's day

With eyes that know the darkness in my soul

I was treated to a fantastic light show as the sun set on a stormy evening here. This old chapel was a nice subject to utilise on the vast expanse of nothingness on the Castlemartin firing ranges, just to set against this dramatic sky.

I had been stood on the cliff tops taking some shots of the "Green Bridge of Wales" when the sky started getting really interesting behind me. So as soon as the light went from the sea arch, I dashed back to the car and headed towards this little chapel, which was the only subject of interest in the vicinity that would allow me to get something with this sky as a backdrop. I had passed this spot several times during my trips to the sea cliffs and I thought it might work at sunset and I was lucky to get this dramatic sky during my weeks visit here in Castlemartin.

Playing around with different perspectives. I have another shot where the whole bird is visible (which I will likely share), but I thought this was sort of interesting.

This fiery sky is the last goodbye, the last in the series of my holiday in Switzerland. I had a marvellous time!

Taken in the gardens of Nostell Priory yesterday afternoon.

Thanks for all the kind comments and faves on my images and have a great weekend everyone.

The Firey throated hummingbird can be found in Costa Rica's Highland. We stopped at a restaurant way up on the mountain when we saw this beauty!

Gaillardia (aka "Indian Blanket") is a native species of North America. Because of its beauty and general hardiness, it has been cultivated, hybridized and sold as a garden plant, insuring its widespread occurrence throughout the country. This one was seen in Celery Fields Nature Area, Florida.

Dusk at the Snowy Range, Wyoming, looking toward the Beaver Creek wildfire in Colorado

We have had quite a lot of glorious sunsets during the past few weeks, but I’d prefer some rain clouds now…

Fiery dahlias and prickly Eryngium giganteum as seen at Erddig, Wales.

I think the colour combination is quite successful.

Apologies for a second post today...but this orange beauty stole my heart in the early evening sunlight.

Happy summer solstice everyone!
