A beautiful evening on the shores of Lough Foyle with wonderful colours in the sky and reflections in the lake after the sun had set over the hills of Donegal.
Northcote, Victoria.
We had a very humid and at times stormy day yesterday here in Melbourne. I thought that the sunset and twilight would be interesting and I was not wrong. I took quite a few shots of the setting summer sun and in this one the juxtaposition of the setting sun and that particular cloud formation created the impression of a large blaze on the horizon.
Some of the sunrises we've been having lately have been something to behold. This one, looking over the fields behind the house was just outstanding!!

A backlit fiery skimmer dragonfly, Orthetrum villosovittatum, probably a young male with prey that I think is a mosquito. Although I have been taking photos of dragonflies for several years I had never seen one with prey before.
Thanks for visiting. I greatly appreciate the kind comments and faves.

another viewpoint over Funchal + the fiery red lights of the city and the white Church of São Gonçalo between all the houses inspired me for this composition! + the view from Miradouro do Pináculo
I was in my element this morning with the beautiful sunshine and all that autumn colour out there and (warning!) took literally hundreds of pics :)
Thanks for all the kind comments and faves on my images; have a great weekend everyone :)

A shot from earlier this summer - this Blackburnian warbler was signing among the pines and got out into the open only briefly!
