who will follow me to hell and back?

the beginnings of this image where very simple, i took a quick snap shot of myself, then difficult bit was hours of photoshoping that my old (pre internet) mate steve payne spent getting it to look like this! he remixes photos of friends and famous people into old school paintings then posts them to his replace face tumblr. You may have scene his one of bill murray doing the rounds recently on tumblr. he has been doing for a little while now some of my favs include: stephen fry, al pacino, steve jobs, sir patrick stewart... there are so many you must really check em all out. if you think that you might like to send this to your tumblr reblog steves original post to make sure that he gets all the tumblr love.

steve was kind enough to do this one of me for one of the blog posts i am writing while guest blogging on photojojo's tumblr for a day. keep an eye on photojoj's tumbler today (sunday night) to see my posts.

if you are into tumblr i currently have 3 tumblr blogs that you might want to check out:

lomokev's tit bits (kind of anything goes photo blog)

fragmented portraits (place to see my montage portraits nice and big)

Have you ever taken pictures, several at the same place, and you just CAN'T choose only one of them?

Let me know which of these two you like better :)

They almost make a panorama.

By the way, the edit work is just to suit my taste these days :)

I did a little more work on this particular photo, and I am not sure if I am liking this version as much. I kept the sky, from my original work I did on this sometime ago. Of course, anyone that knows me, knows I kicked that sky, lol However the trees were darker in the original- the grass in the forefront was darker as well too and had an orange cast to it. In this version, I did a pseudo HDR (with only one image) on the original. This brought out light and more detail in the trees. (I added the HDR foliage layer to the sky of course) Though, now the sky doesn't seem to be as striking as it had been with the darker trees, and I am not so sure I like that yellow grass. But oh vell, this shall do for now ;-)

Day 205 ~ 365 Project

A series of homages to Paul Nash. (More photos in the comments below.)

Monster Field

Sutherland painted the work of bombs

On paper factories choked with smoke:

Delacroix’s tiger leered and prowled,

Paper-rolls were boles of oak.

When Piper painted Coventry

Gothic arches lit by blasts,

The fires of burning houses made

The window-lights, for want of glass.

When Nash forsook his box of paints

And took his camera to the field,

Trunks turned feral, leered and snarled,

Canines almost unconcealed.

When Attenborough films a nest

Of ants at war, or when we plan

To cluster-bomb, or fly a Drone,

Which is brutal? Beast or man?

Poem by Giles Watson, 2010.

Fields in Taunus Hills

Field of cut hay ready to harvest. Shot this with my drone on the way to work.

In my recent business trip in London I had the chance to walk around the city for some hours and I decided to capture some photos using only my film camera, my favorite Nikon F100 instead of my D850.

The lens was a Nikon 20mm F/1.8G and a Hoya GradND10 filter was attached to balance the scene due to strong sunlight.

The film I used was an Ilford FP4+ 125 (24 frames), expired from 1999 and it was self-developed in my studio using Kodak T-Max developer.

The frame was scanned with a Canon 8800F scanner.

Another shot of Evan from today. Steven was standing out of frame, hahaha.
