Four separate models were developed, three were for training and the fourth, the RE.IV was the only operational model. With a basic instrument panel, the pilot was supposed to guide the FI.103 RE.IV toward the shipping or heavily defended ground targets. After being air launched from a Heinkel He.111 and aiming at the target, the pilot would attempt to bail out. But at terminal dive speeds approaching 500 mph, the odds of successfully exiting the flying bomb were extermely poor..

Thousands of 'selfstopfermanner' (self-sacrifice men), volunteered to pilot the FI.103 RE.IV These men were sworn in by signing a statement that read: "I hereby voluntarily apply to be enrolled in the suicide group as a pilot of a human bomb. I fully understand that employment in this manner will result in my death." Only 5./KG200 was equipped with operational FI.103 RE.IVs and the manned missile was never used in combat. This aircraft is a replica built for the Texas Air Museum. It was made as accurate as possible using historical records and measurement from existing FI.103s.

Undercoat with plastidip for durability, then paint with cheap acrylic. I used lots of thin layers, sponges, washes, dry-brushing, etc.
You can stack them in different ways to create terrain, and stack them for storage.
This is Mad Fi in Ankle Grinder bypass in Daren Cilau.
On a typical trip it would take around 5 - 6 hours to get to this point, the journey to Ankle Grinder is very demanding mentally and physically, in bad weather this part of the cave would be avoided as it floods to the roof!
The rocks have a red/purple tinge to them as the streamway water drains through the peat in the moor above.
