In memory of those who lost their lives Sept 11, 2001 an annual memorial has taken place at Pepperdine University in Malibu, CA. In the past miniature flags have been used, but this year was a stunning tribute as 2,977 standard sized flags were staked onto the grassy hillside of Alumni Park using 10 foot poles.
