Montreal hosts the world's largest fireworks competition annually at La Ronde, an amusement park on an island in the Saint Lawrence. Tonight we walked up the (otherwise closed) Pont Jacques-Cartier to get a smoke-gets-in-your-eyes panoramic view of Portugal's entry.

fireworks for july 14th 2011. Having a beautiful spot in Gerardmer, I installed my K5 on my tripod and, as I did not have a remote controller, I had to stay next to my camera and press the button each time using a 2sec timer. This has been taken with the 40mm Ltd.

This is a messier bunch than the Portugal shots: we watched from rue Notre-Dame below the Pont Jacques-Cartier from where we watched on Wednesday night. With no tripod again, I had a harder time getting support for the camera, and there were no reflections in the water to add light. Still, some pretty cool effects amongst these...
