A fellow member of my LUG asked how the fenders are built, so here it is - I used 6134 hinge part. It's a half plate thick, therefore it fits between fender and track.

Fender has relied on its favoured tonewood combinations for the Vintera ’60s Jazzmaster. Comprised of an Alder body, this balanced-sounding material ensures robust lows, lively mids and crisp highs; the perfect tonal foundation for the Jazzmaster’s jangly single-coil pickups.

Shot of my Fender electric/acoustic guitar. I did a similar shot of this a few years back but shot this version for the Matt Granger July 2015 GYGO comp - theme 'music'. D90 with Nikkor 24-70mm lens.

I feel like this is the most obvious possible modification to the new Fender Stratocaster set, right? Turning it into a Tele? In fact, I think it might have been neat for LEGO to include the parts to do this conversion instead of including enough pieces to build the Strat in black. It's fewer needed extra pieces, anyway. And while I'm dreaming here, I wish they had included those printed fretboard tiles in tan, too, so we could pick our preferred fretboard wood!

Sorry, enough rambling. See it on RB if you'd like.

Strato. Pure love.

A great guitar !!

Processed in Adobe Lightroom, I was quite pleased with the end result ;))

Long time no see...

I've been quite busy on the digital front, with design and stuff. You can view stuff I make here: dribbble.com/players/simgust

This Precision bass was one that I fixed up. It was kind of trashed, but is now going again. Sounds great and has a nice road worn feel to it. I think I'm on a bit of a fender bender at the moment. This song has a great bass line. www.youtube.com/watch?v=jDKg2mH2-1s&list=PLVzQ80E-NPm...

Sexy shots of my Road Worn Fender Jazz bass

As a musician of many years playing guitars, fiddle, accordion, bagpipe, whatever I could get my hands on... my musical odyssey moved to basses in 2000 when I decided I wanted to play a Chapman Stick. That was an odd instrument played exclusively by tapping strings. I eventually migrated to traditional basses then back to the hybrid NS/Stick that I played for a number of years. But hand pain due to poor left hand technique and the ultra-wide neck on Stick instruments caused my search to move again through many more basses; always looking for the elusive perfect "tone and feel"... I went through 10 string, 8 string, 5 string and then 4 string basses. Basses with fancy preamps and tons of tone shaping tools. A bass with a built-in computer that modled 24 basses with the twist of a knob and finally simple passive basses with a single pickup and tone knob and no electronics beyond a audio taper pot connected to a orange drop capacitor.

The chase for the perfect bass I now know to be a Unicorn that can never be caught. The chase has been fun but expensive and the closest I've been to catching that Unicorn is this Jazz bass.

I've played the instrument pictured above for nearly a year now and I think I'm settled for a while. I continue to be amazed by the range in tonality brought to bear by the slightest changes in right hand technique.

It's ugly on the outside but rich on the inside... and I'm sure it's alive.

I'm glad God made the wood and the ferrite... and Leo Fender.

LT100 (LTZ1100) is seen on Whitehall in the Fender Stratocaster livery, this was the third day back on the road after the bus was in an accident on 12/10 which required the bus needing a new front, and some of you that are more eagle eyed will notice the guitar neck used to continue onto the front. The Fender Telecaster was developed by Leo Fender in Fullerton,

California in the 1940s! One of my favorite guitars in the park.

Dedicated to Maurizio & Emanuele Ritchie.

Stormer's getting a new acoustic guitar.... (because I am a GIANT NERD). And I tagged Marianne, to see if she knew about these (tho I'm betting she already does).
