Someone needed a fencepost in a BIG hurry!

You can even see the neutral spool down in the grass!

This post, and many others, repeatedly uptake alkai saturated waters like a wick. Over time the the water repeatedly evaporates and the salt builds up, resulting in burst fenceposts.

Its a bit foggy today, thought I would go for some minimalism.

This little Boxelder bug is looking for a warmer place to spend the winter, so they try to crawl into a crevice somewhere to chill. I love the face on it's back. I'm sure it's a way of warding off predators.

Yesterday afternoon was absolutely gorgeous - it felt like a warm spring day in April - the sun was out and birds were starting to sing - a remarkable day for February!

This is one of three Northern Hawk Owls we observed yesterday afternoon in the "farm-y" region east of Prince George. We were watching this particular fellow (which my birding partner took to calling "Roger"...) hunt from the telephone lines just before sunset, when, much to our surprise, he swooped down and landed on a fence post directly in front of us. This is full frame, taken from the car window.

A western fence lizard, of course.

Just a fun autumn photo while out looking for more intimate scenes in the New England region. There are a few locations I can count on for finding vibrant Asters growing along weathered fenceposts around open farmland. This was one of them.

I believe the tiny yellow-orange berries visible in the image may be American Bittersweet? If anyone can identify with 100% certainty...

I love the miniature landscapes created by the lichens in the garden.

Wishing all of you a wonderful start to the weekend....HFF :)))

Walking the fields and hills near the old tree you have to watch where you are going.

Various mosses and lichens in this old fencepost.

More damp raininess in these parts, and I've been as busy as a busy thing, so have some rather unexciting lichen on a fence post.

Four posts and fencing.Stiched with Charlie Band.A gateway for ewes off for a meal in Marsden.Bored with moorland's winter scraps. They jump and squeeze through here.Three trees sketched in soft mists.Lightly at first. Their bare boney branches and slender black trunks became more defined as a wind gently took the mists away.Like an eraser working backwards or invisible ink being carefully revealed.

I saw this fencepost garden when we were out walking this morning. I'm quite impressed with the planting.

Yet I am always with you; you hold me by my right hand.

Psalm 73:23 (NIV)

"Keep your eyes on Me! Waves of adversity are washing over you, and you feel tempted to give up. As your circumstances consume more and more of your attention, you are losing sight of Me. Yet I am with you always, holding you by your right hand. I am fully aware of your situation, and I will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able to bear. Your gravest danger is worrying about tomorrow. It you try to carry tomorrow's burdens today, you will stagger under the load and eventually fall flat. You must discipline yourself to live within the boundaries of today. It is in the present moment that I walk close to you, helping you carry your burdens. Keep your focus on My Presence in the present."

Matthew 6:34 “So don’t be anxious about tomorrow. God will take care of your tomorrow too. Live one day at a time. (TLB)

What was intended to be an early boat ride on SF Bay became a hike in the hills because of a misplaced key. Lemonade from lemons!
