I nearly got hit by a truck when I stopped to take this picture of the barn and fencepost. After that, I just snapped from the car window as we drove along.
One of my favorite things in the spring and fall is to burn all the brush and stuff collected, drink some beer, and take some pictures. This is burn #1 for fall 2010...
Nationally scarce, & quite big (for the UK at least) jumping spider was the find of the day. Pretty well camouflaged in its "natural" habitat - on an old wooden bridge - too.
Mexican Fenceposts
Shown in the foreground of this picture is a collection of one to three foot tall Mexican Fencepost cacti (Pachycereus marginatus).
Mexican Fencepost cacti are very popular. They are often planted in a straight line next to each other to form a living fence.
