1935 George V Silver Crown
In 1935 to celebrate the Silver Jubilee of the reign of King George V, the Royal Mint released a very Limited Issue Silver Crown Coin struck in solid .500 Silver. A modernised version of Pistrucci's famous St. George and the Dragon design. The engraver's initials PM appear near the bottom right-side of the face. The obverse designed by Bertram Mackennal is the portrait of King George V The engraver's initials B.M. appear raised on the truncation of the neck.
1910 Edward VII Silver Half Crown
The King Edward VII era United Kingdom halfcrown shows a crowned shield with the coat of arms of
England, Scotland, and Ireland in the quadrants.
The shield is surrounded by a garter, then the legend, with
the date below. Obverse Edward VII head right.
1895 Victoria Shilling
The 1895 'veiled' or 'widowed' head UK shilling features the older veiled bust of Queen Victoria facing left, adorned in jewellery. The surrounding legend reads: ‘VICTORIA-DEI-GRA-BRITT-REGINA-FID-DEF-IND-IMP-‘ The reverse shows three crowned shields, and a rose, thistle, and shamrock inside a garter. The outer legend reads 'ONE SHILLING'
above, with the date below.

I arrived at Eclipse Camp on the same evening as large and tornadic storm complex. Being exposed on a hill means you have to hide in the truck for three hours. I made the best of the situation by setting up several tripod long exposures. Good times? Sure!

The afternoon I took these shots was the worst kind of light. I could easily have played around in processing and brightened them up a bit (and got better view numbers as a result), but you know I hate that. Our world is fake enough without adding to the fakery. Give me reality, warts and all. And anyway, it's alright to feel blue from time to time. There is nothing more frightening than happiness cults.
Don't worry, be happy. Bah humbug! So this industrial landscape shows the world at Bell Bay, Tasmania as it really was that dull grey afternoon.

I've tried a few times to capture this view of the Lloyds and Leadenhall ("cheesegrater") skyscrapers in the City, framed by the Willis tower on the left and the new one on the right ("the scalpel"). Never quite manage it, this is the best of many attempts so far.

We're at the beginning of a severe heatwave which is preventing us from doing anything outdoors during the afternoon/early evening. It's currently 40c in the shade. It's due to break though next weekend when temperatures will drop to a delightful 26c. This photo shows a field of barley with a glimpse of a lavender field top right. It was very hot on this day too which I see was taken on 9 July. Summer does tend to go on and on and on here.
