During my keynote presentation at the Durham Blackboard Users conference (7th January 2014) I asked the audience what their organisation's mission was.
Example of a positive (+) affordance that is also a signifier.
Feedback is provided to the user if key is the correct key for the lock (green light).

1.Nel linguaggio tecnico e scientifico, processo per cui il risultato dall'azione di un sistema (apparecchio, dispositivo, o meccanismo) si riflette sul sistema stesso per correggerne o modificarne il comportamento.
2.In linguistica e anche in psicologia, effetto retroattivo di un messaggio o di un'azione su chi li ha promossi.
Ci teniamo a migliorare, ad offrire il miglior servizio, a farvi vivere una bella esperienza che si traduce nell'investimento per il futuro.
A Phuket attualmente il mercato offre solo escursioni di qualità "standard" per non voler offendere nessuno, uno standard basato sulle aspettative di turisti CINESI visto che purtroppo abbiamo solo questi!
I Cinesi li conosciamo tutti, sappiamo come "lavorano", come si muovono, etc...
Noi proponiamo tours di qualità ma soprattutto IN SICUREZZA!

“Your poems should be more positive,”
By a ‘critic’ I was informed.
“It seems in negativity, you bask.”
I thanked him for his insight
And his incisive interpretations—
“But if it’s your opinion I’m seeking…I’ll ask.”
He said to add more humor— We all could use a laugh.
“Your wordplay can touch some very sensitive nerves.
You should cut down all that nasty stuff at the minimum, by half.”
Some optimism is what every poem deserves--
Again, I pretended to contemplate
His freely offered advice.
I thanked him again his opinion for sharing.
“I’ll seriously take your comments under advisement,” I said,
Assuming the expression of someone honestly caring.
As we parted, I reminded him how every opinion counts,
And how insightful were these observations of his.
He just smiled, saying: “Now, you’re just jerking my chain!”
I said: “Great. You really do know what sarcasm is!”

I was quite impressed with the slide out feedback tab at Yammer. It made it really easy it was to send to Yammer, so I did :)
It was even more surprising that I got a very quick response from the team at Yammer, well, within 24 hours anyway. Yay Team Yammer!
Still, I'm not sure how the Twitter-wannabe will survive. Twitter already seems a little pointless to me, what chance does a wannabe have?

Photos taken during week 2 of the noncredit Beginning Studio Lighting class I'm taking for fun at PCC this month. The model was a 16yo high-school senior, who's into theater.

The lighting the instructor set up for this series of shots (at the request of a fellow student in the class, who brought in a sample shot from a fashion magazine that she liked) made editing a big challenge.
I don't really love the shot itself, which makes it difficult to pick which edit I like best. I'm fairly indifferent to all of them. (Proof you can't make a lackluster picture amazing with editing, I guess.)
Any preferences, thoughts, opinions, feedback on which you prefer?
