I spent a few hours in the Via Gellia trying to find Jacob's Dream Mine. I found a mine but it had several large and very deep holes in the floor, one of which had to be crossed with the aid of a plank of wood. The description for Jacob's Dream Mine didn't mention any death defying holes :)

I had a look at a bit of the mineral vein and was very surprised to see two copper minerals present (Azurite and Malachite) as well as the more usual Galeana and Barite.

This shot shows the early stages of a curtain forming.

English : ~ After 6 month off, this is a brand new picture that announce my come back on Flickr.

All the photos I published until now was taken in Martinique. That's how I shared attractive images of my native island during the last two years. Those pictures were seen 300.000 times in many countries (Italy, Chili, Bangladesh,Brazil, USA...).

I live in French Guyana for 6 month now. So from that picture, I will let you discover the cultural, natural & linguistic richness of this country I enjoy to live in. ~

~ French : Après 6 mois d'absence, voici mon tout nouveau cliché qui marque mon retour sur Flickr.

Photographic equipment, it doesn’t matter what bit of equipment it is, but it must be made for and used in the taking of pictures. This are part the rules for this week Macro Monday’s theme.

So as a photographer owning more than one macro lens, I also need a tripod head. The selection of tripod head, this is a like a Heisenberg's indeterminacy principle or uncertainty principle, you cannot have fast, precise, stable and small at the same time. And do make it even more complex put in the price and how long you can keep it. Ever tried one of this geared heads, the take forever to set and are initially just off.

To make a long story short, at home I use a tripod with an Aractech GP ball head, fast and stable, for small final adjustment a Leo photo G2 Geared panning clamp, and if some more adjustment range is needed a Novoflex focusing rack CASTEL-Q. Happy Macro Mondays, HMM.

Feel free to leave comments and constructive feedback. No P1/C1 or seen in group and similar.

'Macro Floral Series' - a collection of ten photographs. These images of Lillies, Ranoculus and Begonias, were taken at extreme close up (macro).

All were shot in a completely dark room, the only light coming from small handheld led flashlights which I would position (and move while the shutter is open) in various locations around the flowers over very long exposures.

Look carefully and you will see the petals. Apart from contrast, light and cropping, these photographs are as they appear. Enjoy!

I'd love to hear your comments. Thank you for experiencing my work.

Smoke photography.

Colourful pencils macro composition.

Chosen as Featured Macro of the Week #12 in the Macro Maniacs of Singapore Group.

Medetera sp. (Diptera, Dolichopodidae) male

I had an opportunity of trying out a new EOS 600D body with my MP-E65/2.8 macro lens. It was the first occasion I use live view in the nature on a DSLR. Naturally, I fell in love with this feature. Macro shooting is far easier with live view, I think it is not a real news for most of macro photographers.

This shot was taken at 3:1 magnification, the original RAW has been processed in PS (as my old Canon softwares are not able to convert them). Uncropped, but resized to 2400px.
