This simple wooden structure separates two lawn areas, the the modern pot (waiting for feature plant!) will be up-lit. The new planting will create a dense screen to hide the boundary, with a walkway through the trees. Mass planting of Lonicera on the left will be clipped to create a dense triangle that will highlight the offset angle of pergola arch.

You can't get a sense of the moving parts from this shot, but essentially the bottom piece is weighted in the unshown back end, and drops when sufficient volume of water is in its bowl. Taken in Hida Folk Village, Takayama.

Indoor Tabletop Water Fountain Feature - Fountains / Features
A tabletop fountain is a great home accent and they will bring a sense of serenity to your indoor space. The water and natural elements bring a little bit of nature indoors. Our indoor tabletop fountains are made with hand thrown ceramic, copper, stainless steel and natural elements such as slate, gemstones, crystals and bamboo. The features made of semi precious stones often include a rotating object on the fountain such as a crystal sphere which rotates using water pressure, bringing movement to the table fountain which is both interesting and soothing to watch. Table fountains are ideal accents for small rooms and office desks where space is a concern. They easily fit into small spaces such as the corner of a desk, a bedroom table, mantle, around door entryways and coffee tables.

Featured, you say? Well, yes, it has lots of features. The more you look, the more you see. This was the sunrise this morning. It caught my eye, for sure. I quick drove to a parking lot where I had a fairly unobstructed view, and caught a few shots. I didn't have much time before I would be late for work, but in the time I had, I got a few good ones. There was iridescence in the clouds, which I could see through my 200mm. A few shots of the iridescence follow this one.
So what's the big deal with sunrise and sunset? I don't know, really. I just love that time of day. I suppose part of it is that it's usually more peaceful, in that time of day... the busyness of the day hasn't started yet, or is over with. The colors are lovely. At sunset the birds sing their farewell song to the day and their welcome song to the night. Even before the sunrises again, they're singing their welcome song to the day.
The cycle of life is on display at the beginning and end of the day. I am never more aware that I am part of it, than I am during the birth and death of the day.
