While this photo doesn't exactly conform to the theme of this set, I have included it because it represents a time and place event for me. I think this was taken as we all walked underneath the I-94 overpass near Milwaukee County Stadium.

“Bonython Hall. . . The most interesting and distinctive architectural feature is the use of the arcading to frame the windows, both on the interior and the exterior. In a building of this style, perpendicular Gothic, there is always far more glass than is necessary for lighting purposes. . . In a climate such as ours the sun would pour through the large windows and literally bake the audience in an afternoon gathering. In the Bonython Hall, however, not until the afternoon is well advanced can any direct sunlight fall upon the floor.” [Advertiser 7 Nov 1935]

“l am sorry to see that the University authorities have decided that the Bonython Hall shall be built on the site between the Eider Hall and the Exhibition Building. It seems to me that there will be a further sad instance of the overcrowding which is a deplorable feature of North terrace. “In a letter to the Adelaide City Council, the council of the Adelaide University has strongly opposed the proposal for an extension northward of Pulteney street, through the University grounds. . . The block of educational buildings bounded by Kintore avenue, North terrace, Frome road, and Victoria Drive is unique in Australia. The effect would be badly spoiled by a road extension through the block.” [News 4 Apr 1933]
“Work on the Bonython Great Hall at the Adelaide University began yesterday, when workmen pulled down old shrubs and a hedge on the western side of the Exhibition Building, the site of the hall. The hall is named after Sir Langdon Bonython, who is meeting the whole cost. The new building will hold from 1,200 to 1,300 persons, and will be used for all big University functions, such as commemoration.” [Advertiser 14 Jun 1933
“excavation work for the foundation of the Bonython Hall. . . it has been necessary to sink to 14 feet before reaching suitable soil. . . To provide accommodation for the foundations of the most easterly of the two towers, which will face Pulteney street, several outbuildings on the western side of the Exhibition Building are being demolished. “The first test of the acoustical qualities of the Bonython Hall, North terrace, was made today, when organ music was transmitted from the Elder Hall to the Bonython Hall. . . It was transmitted by apparatus costing more than £400, and designed by the firm of W. V. Benbow, of Port rush road, in conjunction with Mr. D. M. Goodwin, of 5AD. The technician was Mr. Lance C. Jones. . . The apparatus has been installed to save building an organ in the Bonython Hall. The Elder Hall organ is only a few yards away, and by means of a telephone system it will be possible to synchronise the playing of the organ for ceremonial occasions when an organ is necessary.” [News 9 Mar 1936]

Robert Cox was selected as KSL Newsradio and Zions Bank “Teacher Feature" for the week of Dec. 11, 2012. Cox was an English and history teacher at South Davis Junior High School from 1962 to 1995. Cox was nominated by one of his former students. He passed away on Jan. 11, 2013. His wife Carolyn Cox was presented with his award on Feb. 6.

The fountain in Launceston's Prince's Square Park. Launceston has a fascination with fountains and water features, there seems to be a hell of a lot of them. It's a very wet place, I didn't know what water restrictions were until I moved away.

Fairfield University mascot Lucas the Stag makes a new friend — 2-year-old Brendan — while attending the sixth annual Colony Grill Hot Oil 5K on Sunday, Nov. 13 in Fairfield, Conn. The race was followed by a party featuring Colony Grill pizza, and all proceeds from the 5K were donated to local fire and police departments.
