Nom Nom Nom

An Australian Native, the Pied Currawong is a large, mostly black bird, with a bright yellow eye. Small patches of white are confined to the under tail, the tips and bases of the tail feathers and a small patch towards the tip of each wing (visible in flight). The bill is large and black and the legs are dark grey-black. Both sexes are similar, although the female may sometimes be greyer on the underparts. Young Pied Currawongs are duller and browner than the adults. They are very territorial and have a loud, fair-reaching call.

This is one of several that were feasting on these quite large, red berries in the town of Bungendore near Canberra. Currawongs also live and nest in my own back garden.

Feast Asian restuarant on Dalry Road, improvised quick night shot walking home the other evening, sat camera on the 'wait' button box on the pedestrian crossing, set timer and click, seems to have worked, although it left me with a funky angle on things...

20 lb. Turkey, Italian Sausage Dressing, Mac and Cheese, Sweet Potato Casserole, Vegetable Casserole, Oyster Dressing, Salad, Fruit Salad, Mashed Potatoes, Gravy, Cranberry Relish, Deviled Eggs, Homemade Bread....Apple Cranberry Pie, Chocolate Pecan Pie......Waddle, Waddle, Burb! Oh My!

A wet summer and fall have provided a bountiful feast for wildlife. Lots of browse, acorns and berries. This buck is nibbling on acorns. Our beautiful world, pass it on.

праздник который всегда со мной

My first time at this garden. After 6 hours we had only seen about 1/4 of the gardens. Not layed out very well (a lot of walking-6$ each trolly ride- and restrooms only on the main island?!) but so beautiful and elegantly designed, a feast for the eyes indoors and out!!*...

It was raining when we left and raining for half out visit. I thought the rain might lend for some added interest... It sort of did but it was just, messy, too...

(An odd disapointment for me was that the greenhouses have the everyday plants in most Florida yards where I moved up from, so, nothing new in there for me...) :(

I love the challenge of shooting water lilies, haven't had much practice and really love other peoples great shots!* I was hoping some lotus would still be blooming but too late for peak season which was probably in August...

Ideal would be to bring a model with costumes, the backdrops in here are gorgeous!* ;)

[Warning Graphic photo] A Coragyps atratus (Bechstein, 1793) feasting on a Didelphis cf aurita corpse. The story behind this photo is that i was walking near my home and smelled something rotten, so i decided to investigate, as i aproached the source of the smell i saw a group of Black Vulture fling away from the opossum, so i steped back, layed near and waited, at first they were afraid of me, but after some time they allowed me to get quite close as they fought for a bite.

That's the Giglio Tower from the from the OLMC Feast. Sixty Italian men carry this three ton tower through the streets of Williamsburg Brooklyn and there's a street fair to accompany this feat of strength. The feast has been happening in Brooklyn for over 100 years. You can find out more about the Giglio Feast on their site. I highly recommend attending it if you haven't already. You can see the tower moving down the street in this video. It's now my favorite street fair. Thanks for the invite Ben and Nastia!

Very cheap being out of season and all.

And surprisingly tasty.

A group of pigeons tucking into a feast of seeds that was already there beside the lake in Eastville Park. As usual there are two pigeons at the back who cannot get in and eat the seeds. There always seems to be one or two that miss out when a crowd is after something, humans included!

Feast for the Eyes Agnes & Elyse by Vaughn won by Dante

The little silver-eyes were feasting greedily upon the berries of the lancewood tree with lots of excited chirps and squabbles over the best one, I had to remind them of their manners......don't think they took much notice :)
