My son felt bad for me since my entire season was cancelled, so he arranged for me to take some photos at Fearless MMA (where he trains). I didn't want to use a flash, so my ISO was cranked up and I shot through the fencing when they were in the cage.
Hi all,
Just back from a quick little trip over to Nara in western central Japan. It was great fun just wandering around a wonderful little city (well, by Japanese standards) and taking it easy but still experiencing some of the local culture.
One of the most noticeable aspects of the local temples is the amount of very tame deer walking around the park. Most of them get fed by people visiting Nara-koen and as a result are pretty much fearless. It was surprisingly hard work getting a good shot of them, but I got lucky when this dog, going for a walk with his owner, decided to get up into the face of one of the deer (to be honest, I think both parties were looking for a bit of action). They stared at each other for a little bit before the dog got a knee to the nose for his troubles. Quite funny to watch. Luckily, the dog came away with nothing other than a wounded pride.
Full frame, pretty much unedited.
Taken by my son when he was very young. I kept urging him to take another step closer until he eventually got this with a point and shot camera.

When learned early on that Coco is fearless. Here she is sitting on the arm of the sofa. And if I stay in the kitchen too long, she will dive right off and come to me.

I have friends who are peformers and they tell me that if they are not nervous before a show, they are worried. They know that a little fear is healthy because it pushes them to excel.
Today, do something that will give you butterflies in your stomach. It is an indication that you are about to go to your next level.

Lysistrata NDSU - Photography II Final Portfolio
This picture needs a brief explanation. This is the amazing Keanna Berezoski, my fellow wardrobe master in the production and assistant coreographer. All through the night, when we were not working on costumes or make-up, she would be dancing along with the actors on the sides of the stage. And this was one of those moments.
In this picture: Keanna Berezowski, Chris Taylor and Nicole Kolbe
