The Kadaugan sa Mactan is a festival commemorating the historic battle of Mactan between Ferdinand Magellan and Mactan chieftain Lapu-Lapu. This festival is held every April 27.

Bridge on Orange Road in Columbus, OH (our town). R322u57 and I are always curious about anything that's road-blocked or no trespassing-oriented. This bridge has been blocked for some time, and today Rez and decided to check it out...didn't drive on it, but it seemed sound enough...
Long-Tailed Tits seem especially bold in their feeding habits. I was sitting a few feet away from this beauty.
Have long admired the fearless patchwork style of quarter inch mark/Chase, as seen here and elsewhere in her photostream:

The way she uses Japanese designer fabrics in a free-spirited, very pleasing way is something I aspire to. This is my first attempt at her style. It's quilt-as-you-go, and I had a lot of fun doing it.

Fabrics are all Suzuko Koseki and Kumiko Fujita except for one Denyse Schmidt (from Katie Jump Rope) and one unknown (the little cherries). All were scraps, and the zipper is recycled.

Fearless featured in the 1977 James Bond film The Spy Who Loved Me as the ship that picks up Bond's escape pod. The filming took place the previous year near the island of Malta.

original handmade multiple layer acrylic ebru (Turkish paper marbling) over a faery star screen print with 3 color buddha screen print on cotton paper. 11.25" x 17"
This young gull was absolutely fearless, obviously used to people giving it some food. It was easily recognizable by the green ring around the leg. I tried beating it away from my car with the (empty) holster bag for my Fuji, but it did not even budge, when I came a couple of cm close (not the blink of an eye...)
Angstfreie Möwe
Diese junge Möwe war komplett angstfrei, ganz offensichtlich daran gewöhnt, dass Menschen ihr zu essen geben. Ich habe versucht sie mit der (leeren) Holstertasche meiner Fuji von meinem Auto zu schlagen, aber sie hat sich absolut nicht beweget, sogar als ich bis auf wenige cm heran kam (nicht mal ein Augenzwinkern...)

We didn't know what to expect. Now we know. At the end of the year 29 has died during demonstrations. Almost 400 has lost eyes because of cops violent response. +1700 persons injuried. Social crisis stay in the same point, government is not moving one single inch, despite the damage caused.
This is known as FIRST LINE of demonstrators. People who risk their lives to avoid further damage from cops to demonstrators.
During this shooting, cops start shooting at will, with no reason behing, suddenly I realized I was alone and only the first line was between cops shooting and me.
