Dave Marion of Fear Before at Subterranean in Chicago, IL. 11-25-08, Stay Weird tour with heavyheavylowlow and Dr. Manhattan.
this is the death-defying, puke inducing, Skydeck at Sears Tower (Willis Tower)...103 floors up the building, someone brilliantly came up with this idea of building a glass bump-out on the the side of the building 103 floors up with glass floors and glass walls....pretty fun to see other people trying to make up their minds if they would take the step and conquer the Skydeck....took me about 10minutes before i finally just looked straight out and stepped onto the glass box...i made the mistake of looking down and my Portillo's Hotdog lunch almost came back up....this kid came along and nonchalantly walked out and seemed to be playing with the clamps holding the glass together....i had to take the shot right away....and what fears do you guys have????

There's something about this photo that really creaps me out, hence the name. Minolta XG-M, 55mm f1.7, HP5+ pushed ISO 800, DDX (1+4) developer
Fearing for my life from the spectre to my right, I turned back to the mountains in front. Pitch black to me, my camera was thankfully able to bring out just a little bit of their detail.

Fear can be seen as such a universal and objective term. We have all felt fear at one point in our lives. It is the quickening of our heartbeats and the sharp inhale of breath. It is the dilating of the pupils and the adrenaline in our veins. It is sweaty palms and lightheadedness. Fear, broken down like this, is nothing but a physical reaction to external stimuli. The problem with this view is that the stimuli changes, it adapts to the person. It adjusts to who you are. What causes fear in me causes elation in others. My fear and your fear are both similar and so very different. It has the same face but a different smile. Fear is in a constant state of flux, it walks with us all throughout our lives simply growing and changing alongside us. Fear is subjective. It belongs to you and you only. It paralyses you in a state of utter isolation. Nothing around you feels real. Your world, the world you have learnt to live in, stops existing. You are alone, so very alone. When you feel fear your heart is the only heart that is beating that fast. You are the only one struggling to breathe, the only one who feels this way. It does not matter who is stood beside you, you do not consider them when fear reaches out for your hand. It is not that you do not care; it is that in that moment you cannot care. You become a body and a feeling. You become an emotion so strong that everything else fades away. You stand with your fear and you cannot call out for help, even though your eyes are pleading for it.

I always wanted to shoot this tiny street in Port Credit; the fog last week provided the perfect opportunity.

Local Patron B : "Are you sure about that? That was unbelievable."
Local Patron C : "Yeah mate, he's right. My brother saw it yesterday. No one was screaming back there. No sound... just a silence. They were just died. That's what he said to me last night."

wish you a good week :)

When I travel to countries with very different cultures, here in China, I have always loved crossing a motorized means of locomotion in a place not really adapted to its circulation.
If oversized cars and too much power have invaded the big Western cities, more to flatter human aspects than for a real need, this kind of symbolic scene reminds me that with a little control, resourcefulness and especially the desire to move forward despite its poor means ... we always arrive where we want to go :)
No fear! Strength and Honor !!
See what happens when I can't leave the house?
I began playing with some textures and faces when it took a dark turn.
It's a representation of the virus and the fear that has taken hold around the world. If it's not the virus, it's the economy and daily income.
Be smart and be safe. We'll get through this together.
