The jewel in Fes's crown, without a doubt, is the Bou Inania Madrasa in Fes el-Bali, built by the Merenid ruler Abu Inan Faris between 1351 and 1356. It served both as a religious college and a congregational mosque. Its tile, stucco and wood work are of the highest quality.
