I remember deciding to try this on on the spur of the moment one night, as it had hung in my wardrobe for months with the tags still on. I didn't really think much of it at the time...
This is a view of which I never tire - there is so much going on - the old hulks on the shore of the inch (island) used to stabilise the banks, Wallace's Monument and the Trossachs behind, this time with the first good snowfall of winter
This is my favourite shot of Boss. He lived with us for 23 years and we miss him a lot. [from my archives - April 24th, 2007]
Reposted for the Happy Caturday's theme: ""Best"" for April 22nd, 2023.
Happy Caturday, dear Flickr Friends ♥

More anemones in my personal "from-spring-to-autumn" Anemone Collection.
This was one of my favourite sunrises this summer from Lakewood Park in Tecumseh, Ontario. Really looking forward to some colourful fall sunrises and sunsets.
This big old river redgum tree was a favourite perch for this kookaburra to survey its patch of ground on the banks of the Murray River at Gol Gol, New South Wales.
As 2022 comes to a close and we complete another orbit around our parent star, it's always nice to look back at what we did this past year.
Just a quick collage of my three favourite shots I took this past year.
Best wishes for a happy and healthy 2023 with lots of photo opportunities for you all.
This week's Happy Caturday group theme is "Favourites" and I chose this photo for several reasons. Since we lost Fynn Filou has become Tofu's favourite buddy and he enjoys his company. Tofu generally likes to get in contact with other cats, it's one of his favourite pastimes. And although this is certainly not the best cat photo I have ever taken, it is one of my favourites, not only because I love to see the cats interacting like this but because sadly Filou has cancer we don't know how much time Tofu still has with his friend. Moments like this one have become even more precious.
Happy Caturday !
One of my favourite birds is the swallow, when they leave at the end of summer my heart drops and winter is just around the corner, but in late spring I start to watch out for their return, and I still get as excited at 51 years old as I did as a young man. Their return signals long sunny days and warm evenings, watching them dart around the sky, chattering and laughing as they catch bugs and take them to their baby’s. I’ve been so privileged to be able to watch their lives unfold this year as the new house has provided a sheltered nesting site in the stables for many years. This little bunch of baby’s will be filling the sky with chattering joyous fun any day now. I just hope they return safely next year to make our lives just that little bit happier and enjoyable.
The UK's favourite bird - with its bright red breast it is familiar throughout the year and especially at Christmas! Males and females look identical, and young birds have no red breast and are spotted with golden brown. Robins sing nearly all year round and despite their cute appearance, they are aggressively territorial and are quick to drive away intruders. They will sing at night next to street lights. (RSPB)
Books and flowers...
Looking forward to better weather, me and camera really want to be out and about in gardens!
.....okay that's a lie :-))))

I just love finding beautifully coloured Autumn leaves to photograph.
Thank you to everyone who pauses long enough to look at my photo. Any comments or Faves are very much appreciated.
Well, that's another month done and dusted. It seems October was mainly about the birds. Here's some of my favourites for the month.
This beauty was built a couple of years back to span the overflow created for the river Waal at Nijmegen. Canon FD 50mm f1.8 on Sony A7RIII
An edit of one of my favourite beach abstracts. Taken at Huanchaco Beach in Trujillo, Peru. Taken using a Canon 5D Mark 2 with my favourite 50mm lens and edited in Lightroom.

Edited for Smile on Saturday's #clouds theme
My favourite clouds? Well. who couldn't love any cloud seen over New York!
[Back story: Approximately 6 months after I bought my first camera, I was lucky enough to go to New York. The pictures I took weren't great, as I had no clue what was I was doing. However, luckily, I quite like editing (!) so I always intended to process them. Then disaster struck and I managed to properly break my laptop, losing all my images to date. Yes, I had backed some up.... Yay!... But somehow I had only managed to back up my 'option B' shots, and lost all the ones I had identified as my best ones.
So... I have a few remaining shots of New York to play with but I suspect that even half decent editing won't be able to rescue most of them. However, with a little help from Topaz, I'm quite pleased with how this one turned out... 😀]
It Is White Out...
The day after a big overnight storm is the best time to get up early and get out in the snow. brave the elements and make first tracks in the deep snow. Like the postman, extreme cold, sleet and deep snow will not deter me from my quest. After an hour of walking and taking shots i return home and upload the images to my computer and then edit them in LR and Photoshop, that is when they really come to life.
Our local park never looks as good as it does after a big snow storm.
Thank you for visiting for marking my photo as a favourite and for the kind comments,

An old favourite re-edited looking South from the A939 military road across the Dee valley towards Mount Keen.
New Brighton and red cranes,
And slow moving water,
Looking out to the sea,
Yes I am a ship spotter,
High tide and sunrise, I love all that it brings,
These are a few of my favourite things.....
Lockdown cabin fever has paid a visit to the McCabe household this morning:)
I take a photo of this camel thorn tree every time I'm at Daan Viljoen Game Park.
We had a bit of rain and the landscape has changed from brown to "greenish".
Have a Tree-mendous Tuesday, everyone! 😊🌳
How privileged I felt to be welcomed back to my favourite beach. She knew... oh she knew alright how much I loved seeing her again.. I do believe she loved seeing me too and this was her welcome to me and yes I am only a visitor but I love her so much and I miss her......
My grandad was a fireman on the trains and him and grandma spent much of their time in St Ives, maybe that how come I feel a spiritual relationship with this place...you never know ;)
