A GREETING CARD star, one of the nations favourites. Often bold and inquisitive in garden settings, strongly and conspicuously territorial, so how can you not take its picture, I love them, seen at Stodmarsh, Kent, UK.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR FRIENDSHIP in these difficult times, please leave a comment, and I will look forward to doing the same on your latest posting.

Enjoy the rest of the week, stay safe, God bless..............Tomx

I remember deciding to try this on on the spur of the moment one night, as it had hung in my wardrobe for months with the tags still on. I didn't really think much of it at the time...

Just Joey' was inducted into the Rose Hall of Fame as "World's Favourite Rose" in 1994.

Have a good one

Usually in winter, I photograph birds outside, but the kowhai tree flowering last spring was incredible... and the best view is from inside, where it's elevated and I can photograph straight into the tree. So I spent some time photographing through double glazing! Not my favourite glass... but... the glimpse into birdworld was too strong to resist :-)

Silvereyes are very communal birds, often visiting in small family groups and pairs. Some preening pairs are family, some couples, and some just dating ;-) If one preens too roughly the moment is soon over!

I glimpsed this pair through my lcd quite far back in the tree... I didn't see them at all with my bare eyes. They were there maybe only a minute, but seeing minutes like these makes a lot of happiness :-)

Here's to the world beyond the window...

and to moments of joy 🌼

whether quiet or aloud

my thanks for being here

on the other side of the glass!! :-)

Not sure what happened here as the test I had written seems to have disappeared!

This was a shot taken just after the previous horse one where my equine friend seemed very interested in what I was up to!

I had asked for feedback on which shot people preferred and thanks to those who commented. This shot seemed to be most peoples favourite because the horse is making eye contact with the viewer.

This was one of my favourite sunrises this summer from Lakewood Park in Tecumseh, Ontario. Really looking forward to some colourful fall sunrises and sunsets.

Sparkey at one of his favourite places .

Lonely travels now to my favourite spot to watch and capture sunsets. This sunset looks good in black and white!

I always liked these doors and windows on this old house. I took a picture last year and thank goodness I did because they renovated the house and although they left everything in place it looks just too nice now.

I applied a texture to go with he old walls

... but I never get the whole thing because of parking cars

Auchintaple Loch, which has a boat house on the far side, is often named as a favourite spot by walkers on the Cateran Trail.

Whilst the loch itself is man-made there are traces of an early chapel at Chapel Hillock on a low rise just above the loch, identifiable by a turf-covered stony bank enclosing a slight hollow containing several stones.

Near to the chapel is the Lady Well or Virgin Mary’s Well, which is still supplied with a plentiful flow of clear water. The wells in the area were once known for their curative properties, and many people visited in search of a miracle cure.

It was thought that the first Sabbath in May was a day on which the waters had their greatest effect, and drinking from the well before sunrise was considered even more propitious.

Australian Hobby (Falco longipennis)

As I came back from Sneydes Rd. yesterday one Hobby was on a favoured perch.

A bit behind today as I have had commitments at Daniel and Sarah's school. I will catch up shortly.

Books and flowers...

Looking forward to better weather, me and camera really want to be out and about in gardens!

Oystercatchers are one of my favourite waders – Smart and regimented, with their black and white livery and piping calls .On the beach at Dungeness they seem to live on a diet of cockles and sand worms ,The Eurasian oystercatcher (Haematopus ostralegus) also known as the common pied oystercatcher, or palaearctic oystercatcher

Well, that's another month done and dusted. It seems October was mainly about the birds. Here's some of my favourites for the month.

A magnificent Goldfinch (Carduelis carduelis) sits on top of our berry bush enjoying the nice weather. One of my favourite UK birds.

Edited for Smile on Saturday's #clouds theme

My favourite clouds? Well. who couldn't love any cloud seen over New York!

[Back story: Approximately 6 months after I bought my first camera, I was lucky enough to go to New York. The pictures I took weren't great, as I had no clue what was I was doing. However, luckily, I quite like editing (!) so I always intended to process them. Then disaster struck and I managed to properly break my laptop, losing all my images to date. Yes, I had backed some up.... Yay!... But somehow I had only managed to back up my 'option B' shots, and lost all the ones I had identified as my best ones.

So... I have a few remaining shots of New York to play with but I suspect that even half decent editing won't be able to rescue most of them. However, with a little help from Topaz, I'm quite pleased with how this one turned out... 😀]

A monochrome shot of one of my favourite dead trees on the Moralana Scenic Drive, 3 shot vertical panorama at 28mm, Z9, stitched and edited in Photoshop. Experimenting with different mono editing here!

New Brighton and red cranes,

And slow moving water,

Looking out to the sea,

Yes I am a ship spotter,

High tide and sunrise, I love all that it brings,

These are a few of my favourite things.....

Lockdown cabin fever has paid a visit to the McCabe household this morning:)

Another one of the beautiful flowers at the dahlia show and another favourite. The light was lovely yesterday morning too. All in all it was a perfect summer morning, whereas today it is raining almost constantly and feels more like autumn again.

One of the Vas'ka's favourite places (former Mot'ka's favourite place).

Thank you all for visits, faves and comments!

I take a photo of this camel thorn tree every time I'm at Daan Viljoen Game Park.

We had a bit of rain and the landscape has changed from brown to "greenish".

Have a Tree-mendous Tuesday, everyone! 😊🌳

Posing for a picture

THANK YOU for your visits, comments and favourites.

Managed to get a close up of Kiwi before he decided that enough was enough!

Better viewed large and thank you for your favourites.

One of my favourite, but very challenging scenes from Tchaikovsky's Swan Lake, in the production by the Nationale Opera and Ballet Amsterdam (Het Nationale Ballet), staged by Rudi van Dantzig en Toer van Schayk, after Marius Petipa and Lev Ivanov. Leading dancers here are Yuanyuan Zhang and Davi Ramos.

The lakeside scenes are "atmospheric" offering a mix of muted colours, spotlighting and very dark surroundings, which proves a challenge especially when you want to capture the ensemble.
