Fascinating Iceland - Reykjavik - Harpa
Harpa - the concert and conference house in Reykjavík
The facade of the building, was designed by the Icelandic artist Ólafur Elíasson. It consists of a honeycomb-like structure of dichroic glass that reacts to the changing colors of daylight depending on the weather. "This color-effect glass allows certain wavebands of light to pass through, while others are reflected, so that the color of the glass changes depending on the weather and the angle of view."
Eagles are fascinating birds. They have behaviors that few other birds do and some that are pretty impressive.
Scientists tell us that most birds seek shelter when it rains but sometimes eagles will take off and fly above the clouds in order to avoid rain. Since we are under the clouds, most of us probably have never seen that phenomenon.
Though eagles can fly high they don’t rank in the top 10 of the birds of the world that fly to dazzlingly heights. In the US, the record height is held by a mallard that was measured at 21,000 feet. I am not sure how that was discovered.
Though that sounds high, there is a type of vulture that holds the world flying height record of nearly 38,000 feet while flocks of bar-geese have been observed flying over the Himalyas at 27,000 feet.
I was fortunate enough to be standing high enough on a country road to catch this eagle from above, something that I rarely am able to do.

Fascinating camera remains washed up at Bracklesham.
Today's the first day I feel slightly interested in taking photographs again after a few weeks' disruption of one sort or another. Grateful for the 365 project, encouraging me to snap away regardless!

This beautiful mute swan came ashore at Tommy Thompson Conservation Park to do a little preening.
"Mute Swans have approximately 25,000 feathers. Preening involves both cleaning them to ensure they are free from dirt and parasites, and distributing oil over them, from a gland near their tail (called the uropygial gland). This is to ensure the feathers remain waterproof. Being waterproof is critical to swans’ survival, especially in winter."

Indulging in these oh so wondrous and oh so gorgeously pretty ice formations - just can't get enough. Wasn't that cold today but light wasn't as good. Still made some shots. I just can't get enough of how so very beautiful nature is.

@Lito Leafart Exhibition
The other day, I visited the exhibition, the Japansese Leaf artist, he carves tree leaves to create magnificent scenes...I introduce to you through flickr ..thanks for seeing. He is amazing :-)
Fascinating find in Essex, I saw it several times. DVLA says nothing on it since 2005 and even then I would guess it was on a SORN. As Lady Wulfrun has noticed, it was untaxed and I can't imagine the powers-that-be tolerating that for long if it was parked on the road, so I fear this has now been scrapped.
Corollas with this early stye of grille must be mega-rare here in the OK. I have driven a slightly later example which belonged to a friend.
I definitely prefer the grass/hey being wrapped up like this than in plastic.
Ich bevorzuge es, wenn das Gras/Heu so eingepackt ist anstelle von Plastik.

Most people photo this arch in the afternoon; however we took the hike early in the morning and were sure glad we did....had the whole place to ourselves to boot!!
City Pier A is at Battery Park near the Statue of LIberty. The tower is 70 feet high and the ship's clock installed there in 1919 is a memorial to 116,000 US servicemen who died during World War I. This is a 30 second night exposure

One of my favourite flowers is the peony. The colours form a soft impression juxtaposed against the distinctive jagged edges of the petals to create a sense of depth. The contrast between reflective and translucent surfaces is also enthralling.
So there's a Flying Saucer to your left and Godzilla on your right. Is the UFO here to help or just using Godzilla as a diversion for more fiendish endeavors? Or did Godzilla summon the flying saucer for his own amusement? Tune in next time for the exciting and unexpected conclusion to this story.
I've seen the Grebes raise up out of the water and flap and fluff, but I don't believe I've seen this displaying behavior, that's what I think it is, where they stretch out over the water with their heads and wings held up...I found this very 'fascinating' to observe!
I'm finding it very difficult commenting, when I have to keep bringing up 20 more...does anyone know how to do comment without that frustrating...it's taking me twice as long...:(
