Libelle an Eichenblättern***Dragonfly on oak leaves

Blaugrüne Mosaikjungfer***Aeshna cyanea***blue darner

Ich möchte sehr gerne wissen, was das für eine Libelle ist.

(Identifiziert, es ist einen Blaugrüne Mosaikjungfer:) )

I want to know very much what is it for a Dragonfly

( Identifyed, it is a blue darner:) )

I do not know where this is, but I love it!!

I've seen the Grebes raise up out of the water and flap and fluff, but I don't believe I've seen this displaying behavior, that's what I think it is, where they stretch out over the water with their heads and wings held up...I found this very 'fascinating' to observe!

I'm finding it very difficult commenting, when I have to keep bringing up 20 more...does anyone know how to do comment without that frustrating...it's taking me twice as long...:(

Good Stewards of Nature

We had fascinating conditions for night photography in Bodie on Saturday night..There were fast-moving clouds and Milky Way early on, then snow showers and moving clouds with airglow later. The snow never stuck to the ground, but it was an interesting addition to some of the photos!

Fortunately it was cold enough that for the most part, the snow wasn't sticking to our lenses.

I find the detail in nature fascinating!

Fascinating birds to watch!

ID please.

While walking through the gardens, I was interested to see a photographer, equipped with tripod and camera, spending quite a bit of time getting a certain shot just right. After he packed up and left, I stepped in and took a photo of the specimen also.

Always been fascinated by the moon and stars... :D

A fascinating story exists behind this odd-looking object. Originally classified as a basic hydrogen emission nebula by Stewart Sharpless in 1959 (hence the designation Sh2-200), a group of astronomers challenged that designation in 1983, believing it to be, instead, a planetary nebula.

A planetary nebula is a type of emission nebula consisting of an expanding, glowing shell of ionized gas ejected from red giant stars late in their lives.

The term "planetary nebula" is a misnomer because they are unrelated to planets. The term originates from the planet-like round shape of these nebulae observed by astronomers through early telescopes.

Sh2-200 was finally confirmed to be a planetary nebula in 2017, when spectroscopic observations showed the strong oxygen and hydrogen alpha emission lines in ratios consistent with planetary nebulae.

The “new” designation of the object is PNG 138.1+04.1 (Galactic coordinate designation used in planetary nebula catalogs)

This image was obtained using narrowband oxygen and hydrogen alpha filters. Hydrogen is mapped to red and oxygen to green and blue. Thus, as is typical for planetary nebulae, the central region appears blue-green and gradually transitions to red toward the outer shell.

In the background there are a couple of areas of hydrogen gas clouds which emit a typical red light. The star images were obtained with normal broadband filters and have normal star color.

Fascinating to think that from somewhere energy was used to create a living frond and now energy is being used to dissolve it .. a fascinating world

A fascinating insect, that has the incredible looks of a character from a fantasy story!

My photography is mostly nature. I enjoy macro photography a lot, but it is difficult to decide what a I like the most about this art.

Another rare Crested saguaro at the start of the Dixie Mine Trailhead, near Scottsdale Arizona. Fascinating formation.

The saguaro cactus is composed of a tall, thick, fluted, columnar stem about two feet in diameter with several large arms that curve upward in the most distinctive conformation of all Southwestern cacti. But sometimes they produce a fan-shaped form of uncontrolled growth at the tip. These odd growths are referred to as cresting (or cristate), and are very rare occurrences. It is estimated that this condition affects approximately one out of every 200,000 saguaros. Originally, less than 200 of these abnormalities were thought to be in existence. However, more than 2,000 have been discovered so far, and biologists believe that there may be many more.

One more from Jan the pup and my walk-a-bout yesterday. Thought this old tree was pretty neat and could just imagine all that ma nature has thrown at her yet she's still kind of standing proudly on her own and has healed enough to keep on growing, Did this in mono cause it really does allow it to stand out so much better

Enlargen the photo (by clicking on it) to see the ice better.

I found the amazing natural ice art I hoped for yesterday, at a dam and at a waterfall after some driving. This one isn't a good photo, but this little tree still was one of the most amazing things I found encapsulated.

My album of ice and snow here.

Georgia OKeeffe produced some fascinating work. My sister calls this particular piece her 'favorite indoor flower.' She recently suggested I take a shot with it, so what else was I supposed to do. View On Black

I put on my most gentlemanly air and headed to the foyer for the shot.

Wishing you a beautiful day my lovely friends... enjoy the beautiful feel when we get the signs of winters just around the corner... Happy Days Ahead to you all. Season's Greetings ^_^

Have to say, this was one of my most fascinating shoots to date, with the most awesome behind-the-scenes photograph ever produced.

I love the coffin and hair and makeup to pieces.

Couldn't quite decide on the title for this set actually... If only I know what they titled it in the magazine. T_T

Hope you like it.
