The House, built circa 1730, is architecturally significant. It holds England’s highest Grade I heritage listing and retains a majority of original features including the central staircase (which Franklin said he used for regular exercise!), flooring and panelling.

The House, as the world’s only remaining home of Benjamin Franklin, is historically significant:

Franklin lived and worked there for nearly sixteen years on the eve of the American Revolution (1757-1762; 1764-1775)

First de facto US Embassy – holds a special place in Anglo-American history

Fascinating history of medicine dimension – Franklin’s landlady’s son-in-law, William Hewson, ran an anatomy school from Craven Street.

Except temples there are also other things to see at the Durbar Square, like the oversized relief of the Kala Bhairab or black Bhairab, just behind the Jagganath Temple. Bhairab is Shiva in his most fearful form with six weapened arms, with an headdress and belt of skulls, trampling a corpse, symbolic of mankind's ignorance.

Bhairab can appear in 64 different , all terrifying ways. The image at the Durbar Square is cut from a single stone and brought here in the 18th century after it was found in a field north of the city.

It's believed, that who lies in front of the Bhairab, will bleed to death instantly. So, the saying ''go and tell the Kal Bhairab''

Long exposure a fascinating and unique images, especially when showing elements such as flowing water,

This fascinating cottage dates from 1887 and was designed by Launceston's greatest architect, Alexander North. It is said to have been inspired by the Gate Keeper’s Cottage at Kew Gardens, England. The cottage served as Park Superintendent’s quarters until 1982 when it was rented to private tenants.

In 1987 radio 7LTN was given use of the building which was converted to three radio studios. In 2000 the Lodge and studios were leased to voluntary community City Park Radio.

A mature wisteria, at least 150 years old, weaves its way through the cottage garden. I love the way this photo also picks up the contrail of a flight from Hobart to Melbourne.

Most small Wisconsin towns feature these visually distinct yet structurally aligned downtown buildings, as the cheapest way to build but able to show some individuality.

Narrow but deep lots would tend to build up around certain gathering spots (churches, railroads) leading to this common downtown look.

Wisconsin tends to be known for "Brick facades, modest ornamentation and cream city block" and of course food, beer, brats and hardware.

Being from California this style of building has long since been abandoned due to our earthquakes, so interesting to see.

A TOP-DOWN, deliberately askew view of the fascinating central staircase in the Vitra Design Showcase building.

The Vitra Design Showcase is located in extreme southwest Germany. The Showcase is a three-story building with truly unusual exterior and interior architecture. Entrance to the Showcase is free. Besides the showrooms, there is a shop and restaurant. See my photo:

In addition to the Showcase, the Vitra Design Museum is also at this location. The Vitra Design Company manufactures some of its furniture at this site too. The whole VD complex is just a few minutes by car across the border from Basel BS Switzerland.

Lost in the depths of her thoughts, happy memories light up her face marked by time that has passed a little too quickly.

Sitting at the bottom of the falls, I noticed the flow of water coming from side of the falls, the overflow from above. Skimming over the rocks to join the creek again. The force of water is such a fascinating study, giving life and taking away at the same time.

I was very intrigued by these picturesque structures which we saw in many places in and around Tawang in the state of Arunachal Pradesh in north-east India. We examined one at close hand.It contained a wheel like structure and we felt that it was probably some kind of a flour mill.We asked the young man who was driving our vehicle and who was a local about them but he said that as far as he knew they contained Buddhist prayer wheels. However these structures in my shot had a mountain stream flowing through them and Sanjay and I decided that in earlier times at least they were probably water driven flour mills.

Some northern lights in the night sky. Always fascinating to watch. It doesn't occur this powerful that often in the southern part of Norway.

Die Wilhelmswarte ist am Anninger, bei Gumpoldskirchen/Niederösterreich in der Nähe der Naturfreunde Hütte. Sie ist unverschlossen und den Aufstieg definitiv wert. Ein bezaubernder Ort.

This picture was mad inside the Wilhelmswarte, on a mountain called Anninger (Gumpoldskirchen, lower Austria). The doors are not locked. It's a fascinating place !

Cette foto a été fait a l'intérieur du Wilhelmswarte qui se trouve sur la montagne "Anninger" près de Gumpoldskirchen en bas Autriche. La porte n'est pas fermé par clés. C'est un lieu fascinant.

First in a series of images taken during the 2024 'Ladies Day' at Ballinrobe Racecourse, Co. Mayo, Ireland... This swirling bit of ornamentation both introduces and summarises the bold, sometimes outrageous wardrobes one sees at these events. Enjoy.

The cicadas’ amazing lifestyle has been a source of fascination since ancient times. Several cultures regarded these insects as powerful symbols of rebirth due to their unusual life cycles. In early Chinese folklore, cicadas were also considered high-status creatures that rulers tried to emulate. Cicada motifs have been found on cloth dating back to the seventh century.

I haven't managed to find the exact id of this species, however, we have thousands that buzz shrilly every Christmas season...

"Don't blink. Don't even blink. Blink and you're dead"

"fascinating race, the Weeping Angels. The only psychopaths in the universe to kill you nicely", and a warning to be careful because "Of course, a stone can't kill you either... But then you turn your head away, then you blink, and oh yes it can".

It's fascinating how darkness slowly eats up the entire valley. It's also a little scary to wait for the night without four walls to protect you. I wonder if people ever got used to it.

Bryce Canyon National Park is located in southwestern Utah in the United States. The major feature of the park is Bryce Canyon is a collection of giant natural amphitheaters along the eastern side of the Paunsaugunt Plateau. Bryce is distinctive due to geological structures called hoodoos, formed by frost weathering and stream erosion of the river and lake bed sedimentary rocks.

An Indian Thick-knee (Burhinus indicus) was framed in flight over a wetland with its full down-stroke wing position. The focus was perfectly locked on the eye of the beautiful bird and the shallow depth of field made it look fascinating in flight. The bokeh here is very special and best complementing with the bird. I was extremely pleased to have it in such ambience. Pics was taken near Testa river barrage in New Jalpaiguri, West Bengal.

The fascinating volcanic landscape on Fuerteventura with its various shades of ochre and brown. However, those looking for lush greenery will not find it here...

At over 20 million years old, Fuerteventura is the oldest island in the Canaries, which is why the volcanic mountains there are mostly gently rounded.
