Some FAQs.
Q. Where do you live?
A. South Africa.
Q. Can we meet/chat?
A. Sorry, not interested. Some say that makes me rude, but if valuing how I spend my time is rude, then I'm happy to be rude.
Q. Do you have a Twitter/Snapchat/whatever account?
A. I'm too old to use Snapchat, and Twitter is just horrible. And I have anxiety about interacting online, so really I spend as little time interacting online as possible.
Q. Do you have a Patreon/PayPal?
A. I'd feel awkward accepting money from strangers. Especially when those strangers have expectations I'm not comfortable with.
Q. Are you man?? .
A. Yes.
Q. Why don't you go out?
A. This is a private hobby. But also, an anxiety disorder. And this sort of thing is less socially acceptable where I live.
❤️❤️❤️

This aircraft has had more owners than I've had hot dinners. It was delivered to Socony-Vacuum Oil of Canada as N2647 in Nov-50. It's still flying, as N39SM with PC Rental LLC based at Cordova, Alaska, USA. That makes it just over 70 years old! Updated Mar-21.
FAQ: Our Format
Folks are always asking, “Where is the actual magazine?” We get it. Most are looking for a flash book. They are looking to click and flip. Well, Slut Magazine has evolved into a news aggregator much like The Huffington Post. (In format, we are like The Second Life Herald was, if an SL example is needed). Real Life print magazines are dying or are dead. We do not see the need to imitate a defunct medium. Why produce an online periodical whose form mimics a paper magazine. Players of Second Life know their way around the web. They have encountered a website before.
Let’s define a few terms:
A: you don't!

A better question: how do you protect your camera at Burning Man? Gear insurance.

Tim and I went to Tate Britain to see an exhibition of Don McCullin's photography, but the real highlight of our stroll around the galleries was this piece by Cerith Wyn Evans: Inverse Reverse Perverse . Essentially a mirror bowl, it showed a distorted version of the room as we approached it but, on reaching a certain distance from it, the image switched: suddenly, as though having stepped into a portal - like looking into Narnia - the rest of the room was forced out of the image by a magnified, heightened, almost hyperreal reflection of my face. It really must be experienced to be understood but, when this happened, we gasped; we moved and reached out our hands to play with the image, to see what was possible. When two European ladies came over - drawn to it, I think, by the fun we seemed to be having - they had the same experience. The four of us laughed out loud, encouraged each other to look from different angles, took photographs and shared them. It was the most engaged I've been with a piece of visual art for a long time.

Production photograph for The Infamous Brothers Davenport, which is currently running at Edinburgh's Royal Lyceum Theatre.
In a show full of baffling illusions and trickery, the setup for this scene was relatively straightforward: a smoke machine, a wind machine and a blue light. The result, however, is one of the most visually stunning images I've seen on a theatre stage. When I first saw it during a preview of the show - mouth open in awe - I felt the thrill of knowing that it was my job to photograph it, but also the fear that I wouldn't do it justice: that I'd miss the moment, or that I'd fail to deal properly with the overwhelmingly blue light which, as any photographer of performance knows, is all too easy to do.
I'm very pleased, though. I feel that this shot in particular ranks among my best work, and is almost certainly the best photograph I've taken of a piece of theatre.
The Infamous Brothers Davenport is running at The Royal Lyceum in Edinburgh, and thereafter at the Citizens Theatre in Glasgow and Eden Court Theatre in Inverness. Details, along with a trailer for the show, here: www.voxmotus.co.uk/davenport.php

God Hates FAQs. I saw this comment on Tumblr earlier and it made me chuckle.
FAQ = Frequently Asked Questions.
I’ve been doing a lot of questioning since New Year (as many do).
Not many of the questions are good ones and often diving off the cliff into a sea of mindless illogic.
Do I have a Narcissistic Personality Disorder?
(From above) Why do I dislike myself?
How much do I care about the people around me?
Will I ever accept the colour of my skin or are the grooves of the implied and overt racism from my youth grained too deep?
Is self contemplation a neurotic obsession or a necessary path to growth?
Why did I eat sausages today when I’m (a.) on a diet and (b) still suffering a stomach upset?
All these questions and more are, perhaps, a waste of time.
And my progress as a rational whole human is agonisingly slow – too slow for a man with grey in his beard.
Should I shave my beard before I attend my friends birthday party tomorrow?
