Lamp near the nightclubs on the way to Leeds train station.

Sysimbrium loeseli is flowering everywhere these days (along walls and paths, and in parks and forests).

Sysimbrium loeseli blüht derzeit überall (an Hausmauern, neben Wegen, in Parks, im Wald).

The NW summit of Waddington has a false summit as well as a true summit. The false summit sits just to the south of the NW summit at the head of Angel Glacier, across a small saddle. In this photo from the true summit of Wadd an American climber is traversing from the NW summit over the saddle to the false summit.

It appears False Creek has been one of my go-to locations lately. It's so photogenic that I can't resist. This was taken early in the morning just as the sun was coming up. The still water created some incredible reflections of the cityscape and clouds overhead.

EXPLORED 19 DEC 2015

This is the fifth image that was captured near Frome, after spending the night capturing the milky way.

I can't claim this image to be a true infrared depiction. During editing, I decided to try something different by using false infrared settings in Lightroom. This is a photograph that maybe re-edited in the near future.

After a fairly steep ascent we finally reach Gornergrat's false Sumit after taking the deserted alpine mountaineering trail. In the conditions presented to us we had a difficult steep climb in wet snow, of which any errors would have been fatal.

The exhilarating sight of bright rising sun has made me to expect that, unlike yesterday's cloudy weather, today would be a sunny one.

But I was proved wrong later on when dark grey clouds scattered fast in the sky, thus hindering a clear view of the morning sun.

Then in early afternoon, much to my disappointment, rain drops began falling. And instead of showing signs of letup, the light rain showers continued throughout the rest of the afternoon and up until early evening (as I write this).

It is the first rain this year in Subic Town and other municipalities in Zambales province. The weather disturbance was due to a low pressure area (LPA) in the south-eastern parts of Luzon, the biggest island in the Philippines. Zambales is located at the western part of Central Luzon.

Too early for the buds to be appearing.

So I bought I Hoya HR72 for the X100T from Amazon for this challenge, but I'm either using it entirely incorrectly or the filter is fake, because even with the longest exposure time I don't get those nice snow white grass and leaves, everything is just red. There is also a really nasty halo(I've removed it here) present on all the shots, at first I thought it was the after market hood and filter ring I was using, but it's exactly the same with the filter directly attached to the camera. Think it needs to go back to Amazon.

Going to try this again in the summer when we have a bit more greenery present though.

Week 2 - Infrared

A community welcoming sign invites the viewer to enjoy the water sports at Bombay Beach. That is a beautiful lie. Bombay Beach is a distressed community on the shore of perhaps the most toxic lake in the world: The Salton Sea in southern California. Nobody water skis on the Salton sea…nobody even takes a boat out there. The Salton Sea was supposed to be a SoCal paradise with luxury seaside communities until chemical runoff from farmers fields polluted it beyond redemption. Nothing can live in that lake. It is said that birds flying over it used to drop out of the sky from the fumes. No one lives around it very long without developing some sort of respiratory illness. The surface of the water is not shiny, but rather has a dull matte sheen, something that I might compare to a sheet of dull plastic. Forget about waterskiing on the Salton Sea, I’m not even sure that one could survive it.

(Primula veris x vulgaris) is my guess. Seen at Upton Country Park in Poole
