Horseshoe Falls in Niagara Falls Ontario at sunrise.

Spectacular Whangarei Falls is a 26m high waterfall surrounded by park and native New Zealand bush. There is plenty of parking, a picnic area and free entry. You can view the waterfall from a choice of 3 platforms above the falls or by walking down a well-maintained gravel track to the bottom.

Whangarei Falls is located in Whangarei Scenic Reserve. The classic curtain waterfall is part of the Hatea River and one of the most popular swimming spot in the area. Easy access and a well-maintained Scenic Reserve make this waterfall one of New Zealand Must See Waterfalls.

Always a wonderful attraction to visit but the falls are not as large as they were several years ago before the adverse weather conditions and landslides.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR VISITS, COMMENTS, AWARDS AND FOR ANY INVITES.

The Iguazu Falls or Iguassu Falls are waterfalls of the Iguazu River on the border of the Argentine and Brazil. They are the largest waterfalls system in the world. The falls divide the river into the upper and lower Iguazu. For most of its course, the river flows through Brazil; however, most of the falls are on the Argentine side. This photo is taken on Brazilian side.

Pleased I was able to finally get to this iconic Mt. Rainier waterfall. It's famous for lining up with Rainier nicely. Last time I was here the trails were closed for maintenance.

I'd heard Myrtle can be a tough shoot, so was here in the dark. Wasn't sure why. Short hike to get to it. It is an easy shoot actually, for just one shooter. No room for another to set up. Can't see the falls for the trees, except for this one small window.

The smoky skies enhanced the rosy glow that Rainier gets for a short time each sunrise. Who needs sleep when you can get up and begin a day with sights like this? A nap later helps tho.

Friday is here! Have a wonderful day and weekend!

25-meters high, Waihi Falls can be found in Waihi Falls Scenic Reserve, which covers approximately 22 hectares of land. Although the waterfall is not very popular and located in a quiet and peaceful spot, the falls is absolutely beautiful and deserves the visit.

After a couple of days of rain, these were looking quite good yesterday

Great Falls Park, Virginia. Great Falls Park is a small National Park Service (NPS) site in Virginia, United States. Situated on 800 acres (3.2 km2) along the banks of the Potomac River in northern Fairfax County, the park is a disconnected but integral part of the George Washington Memorial Parkway. The Great Falls of the Potomac River are near the northern boundary of the park, as are the remains of the Patowmack Canal, the first canal in the United States that used locks to raise and lower boats. The old classic mock champagne called 'Cold Duck' is merely a play on words as is 'drink' for the pool of water.

These Mallard ducks found a fresh pool amidst the frozen falls and waters.

Rogie Falls are a series of waterfalls on the Black Water, a river in Ross-shire in the Highlands of Scotland.

The Krimml Waterfalls (German: Krimmler Wasserfälle), with a total height of 380 metres (1,247 feet), are the highest waterfall in Austria.[1] The falls are on the Krimmler Ache river and are located near the village of Krimml in the High Tauern National Park in Salzburg state.

Krimmler Waterfalls is a tiered waterfall. The waterfall begins at the top of the Krimmler Ache valley, and plunges downward in three stages. The upper stage has a drop of 140 metres, the middle of 100 metres, and the lowest a drop of 140 metres. The highest point of the waterfall is 1,470 metres above sea level.

The Krimmler Ache is a glacial stream whose flow varies greatly with season. Its volumetric flow in June and July is 20,000 m³/h (about 5.28 million gallons per hour), while in February it is only 500 m³/h (about 0.13 million gallons per hour). The greatest measured flow was on 25 August 1987, when it was 600,000 m³/h, or almost 160 million gallons per hour.

After the falls, the river joins the Salzach, which flows to the Inn, then into the River Danube and finally to the Black Sea.

To ensure that tourists could see more of the waterfall without difficulty, Ignaz von Kürsinger, from Mittersill, created a path to the upper part of the waterfall. In 1879, the Austrian Alpine Club improved the road to provide a more panoramic view. About 400,000 people visit the falls annually. The misty spray of the waterfall creates ideal growth condition for hundreds of mosses, lichens and ferns. The surroundings are the habitat for 62 bird species.[3]

There is a negative impact on the local residents due to the high traffic level in a small village, and because of erosion to the road.

I shoulda taken my tripod with me .....here's a shot of this special falls in Yellowstone. The trees cut off the rest of it.

"Approximately 1,000 yards (910 m) upstream from the creek's confluence with the Yellowstone River, the fall plunges 132 feet (40 m). Its name comes from the rock pinnacles at the top of the fall. Tower Creek and Tower Fall are located approximately three miles south of Roosevelt Junction on the Tower-Canyon road.

In August 1870, the Washburn-Langford-Doane Expedition camped near and explored the Tower Fall area for several days en route to Yellowstone Lake. In his 1871 report to Secretary of War Gustavus C. Doane, a member of the expedition described Tower Falls thus:

"Nothing can be more chastely beautiful than this lovely cascade, hidden away in the dim light of overshadowing rocks and woods, its very voice hushed to a low murmur, unheard at the distance of a few hundred yards. Thousands might pass by within a half mile and not dream of its existence; but once seen, it passes to the list of most pleasant memories. In the afternoon the remainder of the party arrived, having lost the trail on the previous day."

A well-known painting of the falls by Thomas Moran in 1871 helped persuade Congress to set aside Yellowstone as the world's first national park in 1872." Wikipedia

Thank you for your visit ;-)

Just got back from a visit with my daughter and her family Always a great time and wonderful to catch up with the Grands! Hope you are having a lovely week! I will continue to catch up with your beautiful images!

Gooseberry Falls State Park. Gooseberry Falls is the gateway to the North Shore.

All good things must come to an end and so it is with my series on Waterfalls captured on my Autumn adventure into the North of Ontario. For those still interested in seeing more from this trip I will be posting other landscape scenes throughout the winter on my photo page and groups. The scene depicted here is the view down the chutes of King’s Falls near North Frontenac Ontario captured in my now favorite waterfall shutter speed range. I wish all a safe Happy Holiday period and Hopefully a better New Year than last as for my photo shooting friends wishing you all great light and interesting skies.

I took this on Sept 29, 2021 with my D850 and Tamron 24-70 f2.8 G2 Lens at 29mm, 1/30s, f11 ISO 64 processed in LR, PS +Topaz ,and DXO

Series of falls that are only a small portion of the of the Crabtree Falls stream. Crabtree Falls in Virginia is the highest cascading series of falls East of the Mississippi River.

I liked the way the foliage framed this upper portion of Rainier's Narada Falls. This is perhaps half of the fall's 168 foot (51 m) tumble. Taken in mid-September when flow was lower. Really roars come spring.

This is the largest waterfall on the Paradise river. A great example of a horsetail waterfall.

"The name Narada was proposed by Arthur F. Knight and adopted in 1893 for the Narada branch of the Theosophical Society of Tacoma. Narada is a Hindu word meaning 'uncontaminated' or 'pure'. Early variants on the spelling include Neradah, and the common mistake of Nevada Falls.

Curiously an 1897 map produced by Henry Sarvant and G.F. Evans marks a "Big Paradise Falls" along the Paradise River which is assumed to represent Narada Falls." worldwaterfalldatabase.com

A pretty spot spot there below Oneida Falls.

South Falls has a drop of 177 feet. It is one of the most popular waterfalls in the Silver Falls State Park because it is a short walk from a parking lot. However to get to this vantage point, one has to make a steep half mile hike.

Happy Waterfall Wednesday!

A location not easy to photograph, I have been here at twice before and each time something or other means you cannot get quite the shot you are after and this day was one of those days. Also here you really need to take images in portrait mode and for some reason find it not as easy as landscape mode.

The day here was as usual on my last few holidays here and in the lakes, raining. Therefore could not get into the right spot and had to get out the sports lens. This particular image is quite far into the falls itself, sun above at this time of year and catching sunlight on the moss and rocks reflecting in the water...

BLACKWATER FALLS STATE PARK - DAVIS WEST VIRGINIA

Elakala Falls is the first and most dominant falls in a series of four that plunge down Shays Run into the Blackwater River Gorge.

The Jim Jim Falls is a plunge waterfall on the Jim Jim Creek that descends over the Arnhem Land escarpment within the UNESCO World Heritage–listed Kakadu National Park in the Northern Territory of Australia. The Jim Jim Falls area is registered on the Australian National Heritage List (Wikipedia). The falls drop is 200 metres and the image was captured from a light plane from an altitude of around 750metres. It was very bumpy! (Best seen in full screen)

Coming out of a very cold period, snowmelt had increased and the water coming over the falls had probably quadrupled. The flow of water near the top is not complex, but in the middle of the falls a jet of water shoots out horizontally to the left from inside the ice. Near the bottom of the falls another forceful jet of water shoots out to the left. Water must be plunging within a conduit of ice.

Misty Aber Falls. North Wales.

The waterfall is formed as the Afon Goch (the Red river) plunges about 120ft ( 37m) over a sill of igneous rock in the foothills of the Carneddau mountains.

I hiked up to Ramona Falls yesterday and was absolutely in awe at it beauty. It's got to be one of the top 3 waterfalls in Oregon in terms of the sheer number of cascades along the surface of the drop. The rhododendrons were in bloom along the way which was an added treat this time of year. Of the multitude of images I squeezed out of this vantage point, this one turned out out be my favorite. This is a vertical panorama made up of three images. The light at the top was pretty tough to deal with in processing as the clouds had cleared when I arrived in the early evening but at least nothing was blown out in that image. I'd love to go back a few more times throughout the year to see how the place changes through the seasons.

The Falls of Falloch (Eas Falloch in Scottish Gaelic; meaning the Hidden Falls) is a waterfall and picnic area, north of Loch Lomond.

Located just of the A82, 3 miles south of Crianlarich.

When you park in the car park, it's only a short 5 minute walk to the falls. You can view the falls from the riverbank, or a specially designed cage.

The Falls are part of the River Falloch which ultimately run into Loch Lomond.

The pool at the bottom of the falls is called Rob Roy's bathtub - I tried to find out why, but couldn't find the reason. I did find out it was popular with wild swimmers.
