Old Castle on top of a hill in the middle of Polcenigo, Italy. In the past, it has been fixed, added on, windows bricked up and abandon for the roof to fall leaving rock and brick walls. 2010
not facing the 365 tonight. 365's at work are gonna suck for the remaining 16 weeks :( go to work in the dark, come home in the dark. work my a&& off all day. nothing to really shoot. I need to change my frame of mind... i was spoiled by the abundance of light this spring/ summer. must move into bear mode... what would an animal caged in the dark photograph :) lol. I'll face it tomorrow.....
Another day exploring this church. The taggers, vandals and scrappers have hit this place hard this year. Staircases have vanished, most of the steel that was not bolted down is gone, and entire walls have crumbled. Movie crews have left behind TONS of trash, debris and garbage.
"I guess you don't need it
I guess you don't want me to repeat it
But everything I have to give I'll give to you
It's not like we planned it
You tried to stay, but you could not stand it
To see me shut down slow
as though it was an easy thing to do
Listen when
All of this around us'll fall over
I tell you what we're gonna do
You will shelter me my love
And I will shelter you"
~Ray LaMontagne
Built by Jere Whitson, if my information is correct.
Since my last mini-contest was over too quickly, I'll make this one too. Tell me where it is and ... um ... I'll call you personally next time I make gumbo and you can come share it with me.
Also, I originally intended to show this in black and white. I was almost completely done with my editing and I turned off the channels adjustment layer for a second. I was taken aback by the color and went ahead and abandoned the black and white.
I apologize for uploading 10 photos today; I truly couldn't pick which ones I'd prefer to have on here than what I'd prefer to not have on here.
My photoshoot with Kenzie was amazing; she's fantastic.
Shot in August of 2013. Some great models at a great location. Used Redfield ATX on an adjustment layer.
A nice old grain / feed complex, active until a couple of years ago when a fire destroyed much of the interior of the admin building. Heavily patrolled by the local police. We were busted in less than 30 minutes.
Part of this complex was purchased and is being rehabbed as storage. It's now monitored. This means getting to the abandoned areas is now more difficult. I was busted within 10 minutes. "Explorers" have been breaking in the buildings and vandalizing and stealing stuff. The cop was OK, but was ready to arrest me for trespassing. It's a really, really unbelievable explore that probably covers a square mile. From the river to the highway. Had a definite "Hunger Games" feel to it. Unfortunately I was busted while getting out the drone, so no video.
A wall that is clinging on for dear life in Church Street, Thriplow. Taken during the 2012 Daffodil Weekend festival - an annual event that has grown from a fundraiser for the church in 1969 to a two day festivel involving the whole village and bringing in visitors from across the country
Super Service Drive In, Yeso, New Mexico. I assume this was an auto service place. Now it is almost completely collapsed. I'm assuming they're out of business.
This was my favorite local explore. I had no idea it was set to be demolished starting a couple of weeks later, It was a massive, multi-story complex that closed down in the early 1970's.
