It's been fun watching this old house twist and lean over the years. It finally fell over at some point. Below is my very first photo of this place:

painted sign on the side of an old carnival trailer

this is also a 3 shot panorama because the trailers were parked so close to each other i wasn't able to get the entire sign in one frame

Found this Bridge what's left of it on an old back road in Oklahoma.

A weathered house near Osoyoos, British Columbia. This house was built in 1860 for Judge John Carmichael and last occupied in 1963.

This old boy is just down the road from where I live. I have watched it progressively deteriorate over the past few years.

My new camera arrived yesterday, it's been a long haul trying to get it, but I finally have the Canon 90D. I was/am, beyond excited. I also have an L series lens coming...hopefully soon, which should really improve the quality of my shots...fingers crossed.

We were out and about today catching the last of the fall colours. Some great scenes and finds. This place is an old favourite to shoot, but I haven't seen in in many years and it's definitely looking the worse for wear now.

Considered by many to be archetypal "prairie sentinels", these old elevators are rapidly disappearing. Nevertheless, when approaching many of Saskatchewan's small prairie towns and villages, the elevator is the first thing you see, towering over the clustered homes.

At Dankin, there are no houses; if a community once existed here, it is long gone. I visited the place with my friend Sandra on a brutally cold day just after Christmas. She was upset to see the recent damage to the old roof; we are losing another one. Two years later, it's hard to imagine that this structure is still intact. I wouldn't want to be anywhere close to it when the wind starts to roar.

I went back, alone, the next morning; Sandra had to catch a flight home. The light was stunning, with a rising sun coming through that doorway, but I like this shot, too, although the light is not as warm. Colour temperature doesn't always correlate with air temperature; that morning, walking into this field, circling the old buildings and shooting for about 40 minutes, I was colder than I have ever been. I can't even begin to describe it.

Come and visit in December - you can have all this magnificence to yourself!

More than rustic charm...........................

In Bodie, the California ghost town state historical park, this 1937 Chevy coupe needs a good mechanic to fix a few problems. Despite a few mechanical and paint issues, some say this is the most photographed individual car in the world.

Drove through Govan, WA today and took another shot of the old school house. I haven't been here in a while, and I was happy to see this place still standing. I also took a shot with some black and white film that I will show later on once it's developed.

Abandoned and left to rot and decay, this old horse 🐎 box

I revisited this old red barn today. Hadn't photographed it in couple years. Only small changes from the first time, but still a wonderful looking structure.

Captured in April 2022 during a local walkabout with my camera in East Kilbride, Scotland.

My life is unravelling fast. My health deteriorated, my PTSD worsened and now some devastating news yesterday that removes my safety, security and wonderful beach walks.

I have been dealt with blow after blow throughout my life. I overcame them all. This time I am completely empty. I have no resilience left. I can barely take care of myself at times. I can hardly even leave the house or answer the door at times.

I don't know how I cope with this.

I lost my beloved career, my physical health, my mental health, my friends, my cats Kitteh and Jasper, my dad, my mum, my independence, my mobility, my ability to cope with anything going slightly wrong and now I have lost my partner. My home by the beach will soon follow. 20 years... 20 years. Gone.

I need a safe space to cope with my PTSD. I don't have a safe space.

I don't know how to survive this. I have nothing left. 300 miles away from my family. No friends nearby. I have nothing.

I am sorry to pour my heart out to you all but I wanted to let you all know what is going on because you have all been so kind to me.

Your support has been incredible throughout my photography journey. I can't begin to thank you all enough for that. You have warmed my heart deep down over and over again. You deserve honesty if I am unable to post any more photographs.

Take care of yourselves and each other. I'm done.

Captured with Minolta MC 55mm F1.7 lens.

Part III of "a twisted mess" taken from a close front on view. next time I go here I expect the pier to be just pilings sticking out of the water. thanks for viewing.
