My day at the NC State Fair started off with flowers from my date and escort for the day. I had a very casual look to blend in and this was a warm day with temperatures in the 80's and big crowds. There were around 100,000 people there that day!
I get so tired of hearing the 8-year-old chanting, "that's not fair!" that I created this picture to post in his room. Thank you, my love, for loaning me the picture...

Throwback to a great afternoon's adventure at Murlough Bay with someone very special!
This was my first time properly exploring this place. It's such a beautiful spot along the North Coast with beautiful scenery everywhere you look. The weather was brilliant that afternoon, despite quite a strong wind coming in from the sea we had a super time exploring the rolling hills down to the sea shore. Since being here I've always wanted to return early some morning to catch the sun rising over the bay. It's a beautiful spot and one where I find my eyes dancing around to pick put as much of the details as I can - there's so much to take. These two trees grabbed my attention this particular day. They look like they have witnessed a fair bit of weather beating over the years, yet still they are standing strong. I was intrigued by their shape and just how they seem to have grown up, almost as if they grabbing for more sunlight.
Creation amazes me! The handiwork of God seems to ooze out of this spot and I can't help but praise Him for His marvellous works, as the Psalmist did.

Aerial, blue-hour view of the ride area of the Eastern Idaho State Fair. Those were the days. I doubt it will ever be the same.
I went along to Goose Fair on two evenings while it was on this year. On the first evening I took with me my Fujifilm XT2 camera with a 35mm f/2 lens, and the second evening my XT3 camera with the kit lens (see adjacent detail).

Hull Fair is one of Europe’s largest travelling funfairs, which comes to Hull for one week. Unlike small local fairs, Hull Fair attracts rides, attractions, and travellers from a wide variety of different regions.This years fair boosts 300 rides and numerous food stalls, ....( see previous six photos )
yesterday I read the theme for this week and knew I had to participate. It is chocolate.
so I got up early this mornig before the kids were awake.
Since grocery shopping with kids can be a challenge due to all the sweets and I was annoyed about all the discussion I introduced the rule that I will buy chocolate if we find one that is fair produces and ecological.
It worked.
No discussions anymore, they get good chocolate and know to organise it.
