I spotted Stranger No. 20 talking to her friend, my 21st, while waiting in line for the store cashier. Then I looked away to find some other targets (and/or a good vintage buy) in case I didn't catch her. In the end, I still found myself turning back to her direction about a few meters away.
Hubby and I were already outside when suddenly 20 and 21 stepped out. It came out like a pretty normal thing to me - to ask for some headshots while showing my Flickr photostream via iPhone. I think I may have programmed my brain to pursue them because I didn't feel nervous nor shy. There was some kind of vibe, I guess...
She was easy to persuade even when I stopped her from putting her sunglasses on. I like that she was cool and giving. I mean, hey, there's nothing to be insecure about some close-up shots when you are photo-worthy.
I usually like clear bright pictures; but during post-processing, I felt like dimming this a little bit. It reminds me of that old photo I once saw in some '70s or '80s magazine. The model's stare, matte lips, slightly tilted head and overall expression evoke a sense of nostalgia. Plus, the purplish tone set the mood for a beautiful vintage vibe.
Tall and lovely Jamie projected an image that seemed stylized for a magazine, not an ordinary out-of-the-blue stranger shot. She loos like model, doesn't she? Well, maybe she is...

Although I (briefly) forgot about her headshots, I clearly remember the small talk between this friendly soul and me... After she pulled up on the side street, got out of her car, she said, "I like your blouse..." I was wearing a black see-through sleeveless blouse layered on top of a white camisole. I think she was also layered - her style, probably.
In my mind, I said, yes! That's the right approach. A small talk are somewhat a clear indication that a stranger is approachable and likely open to suggestions. So, when she agreed, I also remember her telling me she smiles when she walks. ***Full Story***

What? You don't ever play poker with yourself?? I think one is only there for the booze. . . Oh well, good times.
Yesterday at work during our rollcall we had a guy from the Wasatch Beer place came in to talk to us about their beer. (This happens every so often with beer and wine people). We get to taste the beers and got some goodies, including the posters, a bottle opener keychain and that glas that has beer in it on the table. Pretty fun stuff. No better way to start work then with a few tastes of beer or wine :)

Paris, France - July 2019: one couple making selfie photography in the middle of the crowd of tourists sitting on the steps leading to the Montmartre's Basilica of the Sacred Heart of Paris, commonly known as Sacré-Cœur. He is wearing vintage glasses and dressed with a Hipster style.
Painted in 1874 at the height of French artist James Tissot’s early London success, ‘Waiting’ combines a number of his favorite elements – a boat on shimmering water, autumnal chestnut leaves, a pug dog, and a young woman in beautifully detailed fashionable dress – with the enigmatic hints of narrative clues that have made Tissot a favorite with audiences worldwide.
‘Waiting’ demonstrates Tissot’s supreme skill as a painter in oils. The deft strokes and subtle colors of autumn leaves against shimmering water and filtered sunlight vie with Impressionist paintings, and the patch of water on the right, with reflected trees and floating leaves, is a painterly tour-de-force.
Tissot is thought of principally as a painter of detail; his ability to convey costume and boating minutiae can mislead people into thinking he painted meticulously with a tiny brush, whereas in reality he painted with rapid, fluent, and often broad, touches. Angled lines of blacks and greys capture the pleats of the young woman’s skirt below her cream tunic, which is edged with matching flower-patterned lace that is painted in assured quick dabs, contrasting with the tunic’s undulating and jagged strokes. The single right glove is astounding: few painters could create such a believable rendition of fine leather empty of fingers and palm.
This painting was seen and photographed on exhibit (James Tissot: Fashion & Faith) at San Francisco's Legion of Honor Fine Arts Museum.
"This one is entering her teens,
Ripe for sentimental scenes..."
Ogden Nash (1902 - 1971)
" I know of a world so interesting
It’s the world of the teens
A world with much splendor
Characterized by risky adventures
A fragile world
That needs strong supporting cord
A world that need not be neglected
As it is where the patterns of life are selected
A world where every little mistake
Can change the shape and taste of the cake
A place for investing
Preparing for future harvesting
A world filled with pleasure
Accompanied by insurmountable pressure
A world where beauty and the beast
Are always in fierce contest
A world where emotion is always in motion
And passion faced with continuous confusion..."
