PACIFIC OCEAN (Jan. 17, 2019) Hull Technician 3rd Class Tony Skipper, from Baxley, Ga., attached to U.S. 7th Fleet Flagship USS Blue Ridge (LCC 19),welds a section of angle iron to a television mount. Blue Ridge is the oldest operational ship in the Navy, and as 7th Fleet command ship, is responsible for patrolling and fostering relationships within the Indo-Asia Pacific Region. Interpupillary distance (IPD) is adjusted by moving a lever underneath the left eyepiece assembly which eccentrically turns the assembly to the required IPD. Note the two eccentric plates surrounding the left eyepiece. Also note: 1. the large slot above and between the eyepieces - turning the center knob projects a screw through this slot which presses against the faceshield raising or lowering it to adjust eyerelief. and 2. that below the right eyepiece there are two circular covers - one behind and one to the right of it - which when rotated give access to a Robertson (square) screw. These screws are for centering the reticle
