Water,
This is what happens when you ask a small child to help you.... They present you with a small toy (small, portrait) with a black eye patch :) and we play in the bath with him to get water.
I would like to say that I didnt get wet doing this - that would be a lie

Floor
Still Life
These look like little chess pieces, but in fact are giant ones placed in the floor - I took this using the lensbaby to give it that tilt shift effect and make them look really small

lego slave was very happy with her necklace...she did wonder if it was a bit OTT
My mom. We are currently in Riga, shopping. I bought a trip to Riga as her combined birthday and xmas present.
Kinder eggs! It's Easter and this is pretty much the only tradition we have. When I was a kid, my dad hid Kinders all around the house.
I'm really not a big fan of religions and what has been done in the name of them and how much religion is used as an excuse not to develop and better the world, but there are some things I love - the architecture and silence of old churches.
These are usually the last places where you can see the history and the beauty of what amazing things people could do by hand in the olden days before they fade away. Some constructed these by their free will, others by forcing. Nevertheless, these are places with History and I love to imagine what kind of everyday things has happened in them along the years.
The themes for
Friday 4 January
are:
Small is Beautiful
- Red
- Portrait
- Weather
Here is a portrait of my son Micah - we had gone to feed the ducks.
He hs red in his hat and of course I know he is small yet beautiful :)
Finally, the weather - you can see the sky is bright blue, the sun is shining, yet we still needed hats, gloves and thick jackets to keep warm - it can be so deceptive
Mr. Fixit. My car's sliding door's door handle broke when I got back from the States. Today we fixed it with my dad after some problem solving. Later I fished one of his tool parts out of the car's engine room where it has been hiding for 4 months :D.
The Theme for 16th January 2013:
Small is beautiful
Green
Artifical Light
Scar
So..for the first time I havent attempted to cover all the themes - clearly there is no green in this picture at all.
What you do have is part of my husband - his branding, he decided for reasons known only to himself that he wouldnt have a tattoo - but instead a branding.
and yes it did smell like bacon when it was being done! so here is his scar....
The Theme for 25th January 2013:
Small is beautiful,
Black,
Natural Light,
Sculpture,
These fabulous scultures are dotted around our town, made by a local craftsman they are full of small details, this one is number 583 (signposted in black) and shot against a bright blue sky
My friends and my family. They can be annoying assholes, but also they are my best friends, my pillows, my warmers on bed and sofa, someones to talk to (talking to yourself is crazy, but talking to the dogs is normal, yes?), my guardians, hobby mates, behavior test subjects and my clowns who make me laugh everyday <3.
This weeks colour scheme was gold - I found this easier than expected (mainly as yellow also counted)

We got some company from Finland, MonkeyAir has landed. Eerik and his friends flew from Turku to Riga with an old Cessna.
The themes for Saturday 5th January are:
- small is beautiful
- red
- stained glass
- natural light
now, having a shortage of churches in our area, I opted for some small glass beads (in red of course), taken as the sun was starting to go down (so not too bright) and if you look closely you will see a small image of our house.
The Theme for 28th January 2013:
Small is beautiful,
Gold,
self portrait,
mud,
according to the OH, marmite can be best described as mud!
Geocaching. I started geocaching in Iceland over a year ago and I've continued the hobby mostly abroad. It's pretty fun and interesting hobby - you'll find some awesome places you wouldn't find by yourself. And with friends, it's so much more fun :).
I try to find something new to try every week. Next week's mission was found from AirBaltic's magazine during our flight.
The Theme for 8th January 2013:

My comfy office chair that brightens up an otherwise dull room (plus the small childs converse, we seem to find shoes everywhere)
The Theme for 21st January 2013:

Chocolate
I am normally a huge fan of chocolate - but since the bump appeared I have wanted it but not really enjoyed it :(
Browsed through some really old photos. Discovered few things: both of my parents have an eye for photography (my dad has better than I do and it's a shame he doesn't take pictures anymore!), and it seems that I've always "loved" being photographed and made faces accordingly :D.
Everyone who knows me, knows that I'm pretty good at hurting myself. Today I used a sharp knife and of course I managed to cut my thumb pretty good. It took almost the whole day before it stopped bleeding. Pretty annoying if you try to clean something at the same time...
My precious. Or one of them. Nodal Ninja is a great tool for taking panoramas, and spherical panoramas. I just disassembled it while I was cleaning the car. I really hope I'll get to use it this summer as much as possible inside and outside.

The Theme for 30th January 2013:
Small is beautiful,
Gold,
Artificial Light,
Plate,
Some truely golden butter on a rather fabulous pirate plate - lit by an overhead kitchen light and naural light from the window.
Saw these yesterday and I thought my beloved friend Anders' boy Kim, and wanted to buy him these. First thing today was to fetch them, I hope he'll like them :).
These flowers have always been a clear sign that the spring is definitely arrived. They grow all around my parents' yard and I should plant these to my yard on some point
The Tea House. We've walked around this curious looking round building every day, several times a day, looking at people sitting on the carpet on the pillows, drinking tea and watching us from this building with 360 degrees view to the river and the park.
There are hundreds different types of tea, you can smell them all and order the teas you want - they'll bring them to your table when it's ready or to upstairs where you're relaxing on the floor pillows. Really an awesome experience.
The sign. This warning sign is on Onni's car cage door. I'm a huge Dr. Who fan and this quote was really suitable for Onni.
(Everyone who knows what that quote means and have met Onni, will understand this :D)
The Theme for 24th January 2013:

Reusing an older photo for this one - as I am full of cold and didnt make it out the house much today!

If only learning a language was as clear as black and white...french verbs are pretty hard!
The Theme for 13th January 2013:
Small is beautiful
Green
Clouds
Still Life
The lake - its very close to us and normally a good spot for taking photos - not today, it was overcast and dull.
If you look carefully you can see the tree that sits in the middle of the lake - really quite strange isnt it.
Today Challenge was:
Small is Beautiful
Red
Black and White
Loved one
A tricky combination - so here I introduce you to Wallace Sargent who sadly passed away yesterday.
The man was a legend in the world of astronomy, spending his years charting the universe - he believed the smallest item in the sky was beautiful, was dearly loved, the hard facts of his life presented in black and white and of course being in a newpaper has been "red"
The Theme for 15th January 2013:
Small is beautiful

Painting
Here you have some lovely, wonderful salt - its very small, seen up close and a photo of a painting - what more could you ask for?
These challenges are getting hard!
The Theme for 2nd February 2013:

I am a day late posting this one - due to having the idea well after dark and needing a small persons help with it.
Here I present to you a little golden bicycle as made by my 4 yr old!
