Sometimes in certain parts of these Western U.S. areas, one almost gets a sense that they are on another planet.

Europe - Czech Republic - Czechia - Krkonošský národní park - Krkonoše Mountains National Park - KRNAP - KPN - Giant Mountains - Frozen Winter Wonderland - Spectacular landscape under fresh snow winter cover

Returning some real winter wonderland had been on my wish-list for some time now and this winter offered real possibilities with its above average snow cover. Those completely frozen and snowed under trees reminded me more of some extraterrestrial creatures than just simple trees.

Timelapse movies had become my new way of capturing my travels besides regular photography and this particular moment shows why. See for yourself at :

Sometimes he could show a glimpse of him if he was in that social mood.

Often he stayed hidden from the light and I think he loved to live in the shadows.

This day..he was doing some music with the dark tones of stones and wood.

I really enjoyed it a lot..

For me he is that true esscence of extraterrestrials that have still got the charm...

I spotted these UFOs floating through my living room last night, but it was only when I processed the shot that I saw the little green extraterrestrial visitor - can you find him?

Strange - some people can see the green man, some can't. I could see him clearly at home but not here at work...

Extraterrestrial Highway (SR-375)

Rachel, Nevada

… Next moment I was watching a marvellous, galactic landscape. The planet’s name was beyond my ken at that moment…

The craggy rocks before me sparkled in ruby red reflections; an eerie, crimson river was winding among the rocks, making the environment loook even more outlandish. The night sky was magnificent, all covered by a unique galaxy rise...

A mysterious headstone from the mid-1700's provides a tantilizing clue, hinting at links between the Freemasons and Ancient Aliens. In a seculeded nook of Christ Church Cemetery, in Old Town Alexandria.

A smoky sunset along the Extraterrestrial Highway near Rachel, Nevada in September 2020.

...nevertheless humans managed to capture an alien spacecraft!

We did a road trip from California to Utah. We drove along the Extraterrestrial Highway in Nevada, and stopped at the Little A'Le'Inn, located near the mysterious Area 51. An old truck is parked in front of the restaurant. It was very windy that night, and I had to take several shots until I got one where the flying saucer was not moving too much. The title is a quote by Neil deGrasse Tyson, well a joke by him in an interview.

I processed a paintery and a balanced HDR photo from four RAW exposures, blended them selectively, and carefully adjusted the color balance and curves. I welcome and appreciate constructive comments.

OK so not extraterrestrial but maybe from another county. Another from last night's cool visit to a new location ferreted out by Tim Gamble. Not completely happy with this one due to the light spillage on the stone from the net curtain waving but we'll be back! Also good to meet up with Komeg Fotograff again!

Hey guys! I wanted to also just let you all know that this beautiful makeup, specifically the eyes and eyeshadow, were made by the amazing, Keiko .

The dress I'm wearing was made by the incredibly talented, Fidelio .

I did end up photoshopping it to look like a gown, as well as, the shoulders a bit, because I had a specific silhouette in mind, but the original dress exists and its stunning!

2016 Science fiction film by Denis Villeneuve

Linguistics professor Louise Banks (Amy Adams) leads an elite team of investigators when gigantic spaceships touch down in 12 locations around the world. As nations teeter on the verge of global war, Banks and her crew must race against time to find a way to communicate with the extraterrestrial visitors.

The movie is much more about visual communication than extraterrestrial invaders.

Journeying into the labyrinthian caverns, explorer Adrian Washington discovers a unbelievable object. However, the mysterious saucer is guarded by two tribal warriors...

A very likely entry for the top shot contest :)

New York City, September 2018

An eye-catching spectacle unfolded on 6th Avenue at 42nd Street as steam from a hole in the road made its way and was illuminated by the many lights of the vehicles. Never saw so much steam in New York.

Are there extraterrestrials living among us on earth? What do they do? These are the type of questions humans have debated for ages, and after a weekend at Death Valley National Park, I believe I am ready to solve them. Speculate no more, as aliens are playful creatures who, it turns out, live in the mountains around The Racetrack Playa and come out every full moon to move around rocks.

Why you might ask, would aliens do this when there are so many things they could see and do on earth? The answer is simple: to mess with tourists. It’s probably a higher calling on their planets. As the legend goes, no one has ever seen these rocks in Death Valley National Park move. Nonsense. As the hit film Men in Black taught us, aliens have the power to erase our minds. Heck, there’s a good chance I saw aliens the night I took this photo. I don’t remember seeing them, but I cannot say definitively that I did not see them....

The women were playing Mahjong at home, so I escaped for a sunset photoshoot. I decided to go to the Stanford Dish, a park in the hills behind Stanford University. I arrived at 7:33 pm, the park closes for entrance at 7:30 pm. A police woman was guarding the entrance and refused to let me in. On the map I have seen that there was another entrance to the park on the west side. I drove there, and luckily someone just came out and held the gate open for me - the gate can only be opened from the inside after hours. I think it was worth it.

I processed a balanced and a deep HDR photo from a RAW exposure, merged them, and carefully adjusted the curves and color balance.

This exceptional geyser landscape in Nevada appears to be of extraterrestrial origin. The geyser discharges boiling water out of three vents heated by an active magma chamber in shallow depth below this area. The geyser is located in the middle of a dried-up lake that covered 22.000 km² at the end of the last ice age. Volcanic basalt lava builds up the bedrock below the sediments of the former lake. These lava eruptions occurred during the ice age. The appearance of this landscape often changed during the last 10.000 years. Probably its most unusual and beautiful today.

Where Geoscience Meets Art

-------------------------------

Location of the Alamo Breccia west of Hancock pass, Nevada on the Extraterrestrial Highway (Nevada hwy 375). The Alamo Breccia is a Tsunami deposit triggered by an asteroid impact 382 million years ago. It is part of the late Devonian Guimette formation, a sequence of carbonate platform deposits (shallow warm sea with coral and sponge reefs). The impact appears to be at the edge of the continental shelf and shattered and displaced coral reefs as well as some deep sea sediments. The largest clast is over 500meters long and 30 meters high!

This site is well known and has been visited by numerous geologist.
