Not particularly common for CP to run to Falconbridge in the morning, so shots like this with the yard 6 axles is relatively uncommon.

A CP Rail westbound extra rolls into great late afternoon lighting as SD40 5512 still in candy stripes is looking great here west of London, Ontario back on April 15, 1978.
I came upon this pretty creek on one of the back roads the other day. I was trying to figure out the fence configuration here. It would seem to be more practical to just run the fence straight along the road on which I am standing.
However, someone felt it was necessary to build the fence down the bank, around the tree and into the water as well. Why? Maybe they had extra fencing they wanted to use up. Whatever the reason, I am happy to have it in my Happy Fence Friday photo.

This rollover lasts just three or four seconds after being in the rest phase for between 6 and 10 minutes. A matter of patience to get it.

My wife and I just got back from an amazing trip to the Black Hills of South Dakota. It was so wonderful to get out shooting and the critters did not disappoint as they were plentiful and willing subjects. Custer State Park has a wide variety of wildlife and is considered one of the top spots in the US for viewing this natural bounty.

Some of the vegetation in Washington state got singed from a 110F or higher heat wave in the Pacific northwest that happened a few weeks before I arrived. This is a fern along a trail in the Black Diamond Natural Area.

Indiana Northeastern 2230, a former Pennsy GP30, leads another GP30, a GP7U and a GP10 with a loaded grain train east through Edon on a pleasant summer morning. A motorcar special has cleared up in the elevator track for the passage of the four veteran EMD's and their heavy train.
Although almost identical the Arizona Sister is different then the California Sister. The Arizona is slightly larger, and its coloring pattern is has a slight variation. The easies way to tell the two apart is the Arizona has one section on the lower wing that is blue, orange, blue and the California’s same section has an extra partial bar of orange.

CSX X648-24 rolls north through Trenton, KY, 225 miles from Louisville, KY via Nashville, TN. The flared radiator SD70MAC (4758) leading was a nice touch, especially in this lighting.
An extra with a nice lashup of CP 4429 & CMQ 3812 is shoving a long string of well cars into the Lachine IMS Yard.
Capture taken during this years early September trip to the Dolomites with some friends. While others still in bed, I went early to Passo Giau and took some effort to get up to the Forcella die Giau. The moon was shining bright and so the scenery is getting some extra illumination. Have a good remaining week. Thanks, Udo.
