Members of the of the Department of Sport Management and Recreation at Springfield College join together in the Extra Mile Event. The event was initiated in honor of John Borland, PhD, associate professor of Sport Management, who lost his battle with throat cancer. The Extra Mile Event also commemorates Borland's strong belief in uniting current students with alumni, and celebrates the commitment, determination and grit that it takes to "go the extra mile."
